PAWS R US (JHB, SA) are helping this gorgeous little guy, COOPER, in his quest to find a loving, committed, and secure home.

NOTE: This is a private rehoming case - in other words, this little man is still with his current family, in his home.

Here are his basic details:
• Name - Cooper
• Gender - Male
• Breed - Dachshund X
• Age - 7 years
• Steri Status - neutered
• Vaccs Status - up to date for 2023
• Chip Status - will be done
• Socialisation with dogs, cats and kids: Little Cooper has been exposed to children and other dogs. However, he has never been with cats.

Here's a more detailed profile:
My name is Cooper and I’m he sweetest most loyal boy! I love to run at the park, swim in the pool and play with my toys! I enjoy chilling in the sun during the day and catching naps in my bed or the couch. At night I sleep with my humans in their bedroom under my blanket. Above all my favourite time is getting neck scratches while we watch TV together. I would work best with a family who are home often and love going on outings to the park. I enjoy being around other doggies and always need a friend. THE BONUS is that I am house-trained! I am also super SMART and obey a variety of commands :)

P.S. I love getting my dog biscuit in the morning and night and I currently eat once a day. I would make an amazing companion within a good, loving family!

CURRENT LOCATION: Fourways, JHB

DEADLINE FOR REHOMING: ASAP

EMAIL: [email protected]

PLEASE JOIN HANDS & RALLY IN SUPPORT OF THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE GUY. The adoption process involves a meet and greet, adoption paperwork, home-check and nominal administration fee.

THANK YOU FOR CARING & SHARING!

MOVED TO KENNEL R14

SO, so sweet and so pretty, this pup really needs to be in a home! She is so unsure of herself in kennels; just a baby, so very young.

PAWS R US (Midrand, JHB) They’ve been understood, treasured, and adored. But now their lives are about to change dramatically. We need your support to find the magic to bless these 3 lives.

This is a very difficult and sad rehoming case, and one in which the humans are absolutely devastated. Where humans truly love and care, and meet us halfway, we will do everything in our power to find the miracles and magic. Please join hands with us and help RILEY, TOFFEE and BELLE to find the tall order, the big ask, the long shot, the pot of gold. Rehoming big dogs these days is always difficult – but with your help, anything and everything is possible.

RILEY is a magnificent GERMAN SHEPHERD GIRL. She was thrown over someone’s fence as a puppy, and came into the home as a cowering, highly anxious soul. The family have worked with her over the last 5 years to bring out her full, glorious potential. She is 5 years old, sterilised, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her socialisation has been limited to the 2 other dogs in the home, however, with good introductions and time to integrate, she should settle in well with other dogs. She has been exposed to adults and children, and given her nervous nature, will tend to be submissive. Once comfortable, she opens up to show all of her beautiful traits.

TOFFEE is a LABRADOR MIX GIRL and now 7 years old. She was abandoned and tied to a tree, before she eventually found herself in a place of refuge. The family took her in and have devoted the time to understand her anxieties. Abandonment leaves its mark, and Toffee is understandably careful with strangers, and wary of a leash. Despite it all, Toffee is fundamentally a happy soul, and beams her beautiful smile when she feels comfortable. She shows her excitement when she is with her special humans and can be protective. Toffee has only been exposed to the 2 other dogs in the home and will take time to integrate with new dogs – however, with patience and love, all things are possible (something that Toffee has demonstrated time and time again). She is sterilised, vaccinated and microchipped.

BELLE is a 3 year old LABRADOR X BOXER GIRL. She is a striking girl and in beautiful condition. She has been with the family since she was just a teeny puppy, and is sterilised, vaccinated, and microchipped. Typical of her breed, she can be powerful, boisterous and excited, and sometimes a little clumsy with socialising. Given that her social circle has been limited to the 2 dogs in the home, she isn’t sure about new dogs, and needs some help integrating with newcomers. BELLE loves her toys, and thrives on playing. However, she is also a GRADE A student, is formally trained, and is very obedient.

These 3 dogs are a tightly-knit unit, and if we could wave a magic fairy-wand, we would find a great home for all 3 together – however, we know that this will be a very long shot indeed. Therefore, as much as it is painful, we will find homes for them separately if we get solid applications for each dog.

They have slept close to their family every night, have had full run of the property, and have lived a sheltered, and blessed life. Please help us to bless their future with good humans, true love, and a safe and secure life.

LOCATION: Florida, Roodepoort

EMAIL: [email protected]

The adoption process involves a meet and greet, adoption application and contract, a home-check and nominal adoption fee (just to cover petrol and administration).

THANK YOU FOR PARTNERING WITH US TO BLESS RILEY, TOFFEE & BELLE!

MAGNIFICENT MAX NEEDS A NEW HOME!

PAWS R US (SA) are helping this beautiful boy in his quest to find another wonderful human. Following the passing of his human Mom, who he adored, MAX's whole world has changed. He misses his Mom, and is trying to be brave as he looks to the future. Our mission is to find him someone special, someone committed, and someone who understands the meaning of the word: FOREVER.

Here are his details:
NAME: Max
GENDER: Male
BREED: German Shepherd (GSD)
AGE: 9
STERI STATUS: Done
VACCS STATUS: Will be updated before being rehomed
CHIP STATUS: Will be done before being rehomed
SOCIALISATION: He has been socialised and grew up with dogs. However, MAX has been alone for the last 3 years due to his siblings passing away. As a result, he can be socially clumsy at the outset, and this can be misinterpreted by other dogs. Therefore, introductions will be facilitated by PAWS R US (SA), and integration will take time. We would prefer to avoid cats altogether as MAX has not lived with feline friends.

QUIRKS, HABITS, LIKES/DISLIKES: MAX had an incredible bond with his human Mom. Her passing creates a great void in his life. He is gentle, friendly, loves attention and TLC His favourite thing is belly rubs and cuddles - and of course, eating food. He loves humans, and human contact. Inbetween the interaction with humans, he keeps a close eye on the gate for unexpected passers-by, and of course, LOVES lounging around the house napping.

MAX needs to take antibiotics daily (for his skin condition) and cortisone every 2nd day. He needs his ears cleaned once a week and an antibacterial shampoo applied once a week. The family (i.e. the children of the human Mom who has passed away, and who live in the UK) are happy to help with these expenses for up to 4 months following the adoption, to support the transition. They will also support a vet visit to evaluate whether MAX's antibiotics will do the trick, and whether he can stop using them in the near future.

LOCATION: Highlands North, JHB.

DEADLINE: As soon as possible. MAX is currently alone at the house (which will be sold in the near future), and although he has a doting human who will check on him daily, and take him for walks, it is not the same as having his own special family, and place in this world.

EMAIL: [email protected]

The adoption process involves a meet and greet, adoption application and contract, home-check, and nominal adoption fee to cover basic administration for PAWS R US (SA).

THANK YOU FOR SHARING WIDELY!

Melody is a petite female husky who is 3 years old (DOB: 2020).

She gets on very well with other large breed MALE dogs but isn't shy to voice her opinion and will stand up for herself. She adores people of all ages, including children. She does not know cats or small dogs.

She is a sweet natured girl with a beautiful smile and a loving heart. She is very easy going and happy-go-lucky and doesn't need a lot of space or exercise. Just a nice stroll once a day, two meals a day, and to be able to sleep inside. She doesn't jump and walks wonderfully on leash😇

Melody is currently at Husky Rescue in Johannesburg and as meet and greets are essential she must be homed in the Gauteng area.

Happy Big Cat Birthday to Shevar & Sharukh! 🎉🎉

Brothers Shevar & Sharukh are suspected to have been born in captivity on 20 October 2012. They were moved to the Bloemfontein Zoo in 2014 🙁

After being rescued from the zoo, they arrived at LIONSROCK on 18 March 2020. Together with multiple other organisations, a total of 150 animals found species-appropriate homes across the country after the Bloemfontein Zoo closed in 2020. The zoo temporarily closed in December 2019 but failed to keep the promise to continue feeding and taking care of the animals. When it was revealed that five animals had died from starvation, FOUR PAWS organised an emergency intervention🆘

Today Shevar and Sharukh enjoy a species-appropriate life here at LIONSROCK, their forever home 🧡We wish them many more years of good health and happiness!
