Today I want to recognize our pit bull cousin the Dogo Argentno. Another truly awesome breed! This info is from the AKC website.

History
This breed has its origin in the province of Cordoba, in the central (Mediterranean) region of the Republic of Argentina. Its creator was Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, a (renowned) doctor and member of a traditional family. In 1928, his passion for dogs, perhaps a family legacy, led him to set the bases and a standard for a new dog breed which he named Dogo Argentino. His work was based upon the methodical crossbreeding of several purebreds with the old fighting dog from Cordoba, a dog which was very strong and vigorous. After a thorough and minute character study and selection, through different generations, Dr. Nores Martinez accomplished his purpose, obtaining the first family. At the beginning, it was generally considered a dog for fighting but Dr. Nores Martinez's liking for hunting led him to take the dog to one of his habitual hunting trips, where the new breed demonstrated its skills, thus becoming a key figure in all his trips. Thus it became quickly an excellent big-game hunting dog. With the passing of time, this adaptation capacity has made this dog very versatile as regards functions; it has proved to be a noble companion and a loyal and insurmountable protector of those it loves. Its strength, tenacity, sharp sense of smell and bravery make it the best dog among those used for hunting wild boars, peccaries, pumas and other country predators which can be found in the vast and heterogeneous areas of the Argentinean territory. Its harmony, balance and its excellent athletic muscles are ideal characteristics for enduring long trips in any weather conditions and then fighting fiercely with the pursued prey. In 1973 the breed was accepted by FCI as the first and only Argentinean breed, thanks to the great passion, work and effort of Dr. Augustin Nores Martinez, its creator's brother and successor.

This powerful image of a dog’s paw on a hand speaks volumes about loyalty, love, and trust. Not every hand we encounter is trustworthy, but every paw we hold is filled with faith and devotion. Dogs are loyal companions who offer us their hearts without question, and that loyalty is something we should never take for granted.

The bond between humans and dogs is one of the purest forms of love. While people may come and go, our dogs remain steadfast, offering their love unconditionally. They are the ones who always stand by us, no matter what. They show us what true loyalty really means.

Let’s be reminded that our dogs are always there for us, no matter the circumstances. They ask for so little and give us so much. Their paws symbolize loyalty, and their love is unwavering. Let’s always cherish the unconditional love our pets give us. 🐕❤️

The term pit bull has become so convoluted most people don't even know what a pit bull is. Well, let's begin with what is not a pit bull.

The American Bully can look like an American Pit Bull Terrier but, it is not. They were created in the beginning using the APBT and several other breeds. Including American Bulldogs, Old English Bulldogs, American Staffordshire Terriers and other breeds. While they originally had APBT in them over generations their DNA has split completely with their ancestor. The same with the American Staffordshire Terrier. The AmStaff was originally an APBT but today they are a separate breed.
The American Bully was bred to get the trait of "gameness" out of them. Gameness is the trait that gets pit bulls in trouble. In the beginning breeders began breeding Olde English Bulldogs with terrier breeds because of their tenacity and quickness. It also gives them the ability to complete a task even upon pain of death. This is where the myth that they have locking jaws comes in. It's not that their jaws lock (no animal in the animal kingdom has locking jaws) it's the trait of gameness that makes them hold on and not let go. It is the same with the myth that they don't feel pain. It is not that they don't feel pain, gameness gives them the ability to ignore pain until the task is finished. it also gives them that tireless energy we all see in them.
Breeders of the American Bully wanted to breed out that this trait to get a calmer dog that was less prone to have undesirable behaviors. I am not saying pit bulls are bad by nature, that is not true. They are loving loyal dogs but, they can have a tendency to have a "high prey drive" which is why some have to be the only dog in the house. Now, the trait that both breeds have in common, is their love for humans. They are less likely than most breeds to show aggression.
The point here being, the American Bully and the American Pit Bull Terrier are two distinctly different breeds. We have to get over calling every dog a pit bull just because they look like one.

🐾 American vs. British Rottweiler – What Makes Them Different?

Both American and British Rottweilers trace their roots back to the German Rottweiler, but breeding practices and local standards have created noticeable differences over time.

1. Appearance:
The American Rottweiler tends to be taller and leaner with a narrower muzzle and often has a docked tail (shortened). In contrast, the British Rottweiler is stockier and more muscular, with a broader head and a natural tail, as tail docking is banned in the UK.

2. Temperament:
American Rottweilers are more active and outgoing, often bred for agility and family companionship. British Rottweilers are calmer and more protective, making them excellent guard dogs.

3. Breeding Standards:
• 🇺🇸 American Rottweiler: Follows the AKC (American Kennel Club) standard — slightly softer facial features and lighter build.
• 🇬🇧 British Rottweiler: Follows The Kennel Club (UK) standard — focuses on strength, health, and confidence.

Most Dangerous Dog Breeds in the World (New Modified Order)
Wolfdog (Czechoslovakian or Saarloos) A hybrid breed possessing strong wild instincts and unpredictable behavior due to its wolf ancestry. Their intense nature and high prey drive make them exceptionally difficult and dangerous for most owners.

Tosa Inu (Japan) Historically bred for dog fighting, this immense Japanese mastiff is often silent and stoic, concealing tremendous power and an extremely high pain threshold. It is illegal in several nations due to its history.

Kangal This imposing Turkish livestock guardian is famous for possessing one of the highest recorded bite forces (over 700 PSI). While loyal to its protected flock, its highly territorial and reactive nature poses a risk to outsiders.

Presa Canario This powerful Spanish molosser, originally from the Canary Islands, requires exceptionally firm and consistent leadership. Without it, this dominant and highly muscled guardian can become dangerously aggressive towards strangers.

Fila Brasileiro Also known as the Brazilian Mastiff, this breed is characterized by its intense loyalty and legendary distrust of strangers (called ojeriza). Its sheer size and protective drives require serious commitment from its owner.

Boerboel Bred in South Africa to protect property against large predators (including lions), this massive guardian is highly territorial. Its strength and guarding instincts demand expert-level handling to manage aggressive tendencies.

Belgian Malinois Highly favored by military and police units, this breed is known for its intense drive, speed, and intelligence. If not given adequate physical and mental stimulation, the Malinois can quickly become dangerously hyper-reactive and destructive.

Dogo de Burdeos (French Mastiff) Recognizable by its massive head and powerful, muscular frame, this breed has a history in guarding and fighting. Its stubbornness, brute strength, and tendency to be dominant require authoritative and firm management.

Akita Inu This Japanese breed is known for being dignified, reserved, and fiercely protective. The Akita's strong, independent will and potential aggression toward other animals necessitate early, consistent training and extensive socialization.
