We wish to thank the Le Roux family for making a contribution each and every month. The Stott family who sponsored Cody Snr's dental procedure all the way from overseas and the Van Der Berg family who also contributes regularly towards the care of these doggies.

We are happy to report that Cody snr and Muis' dentals were done and we neutered Cody snr.

We are however still out of pocket for Cody snr's neuter and Muis' dental which we had to pay upfront.

Furthermore we still desperately need sponsors to cover:

Stevie's (the blind Pomeranian) - Neuter, vaccinations and microchip;
Daisie's - Spay, vaccinations and microchip;
Codie snr - Neuter, vaccinations and microchip;
Cody Jnr's (renamed Marshall) - Neuter, vaccinations and microchip;
Muis' - Dental, vaccinations and microchip;
Chase's - Neuter, vaccinations and microchip;

We have obtained quotes from our vet and if you are able to help in any small way we will be very thankful. You are also welcome to pay it directly into the vet's account should you prefer to.

For more information please WhatsApp Lynda on 082 886 1151.

PRECIOUS CODY & CHLOE NEED A NEW HOME (GAUTENG ONLY!!!!!!!! as we would not like to traumatise them any further by flying them to the coast or even travelling for hours in a crate by road)!

They have been through a LOT and we are going to pull out all the stops to find them an AMAZING HOME.

They were surrendered during the holiday season, and they've taken a while to settle in and settle down. These little ones are riddled with worms, and as a result, are very skinny. They also haven't had a dental over the years and their teeth are in a shocking condition. At this stage, they can only manage soft food. y
Chihuahua Rescue are asking for assistance with donations towards their veterinary care - aside from the dewormers and dentals, they need to be sterilised, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Here are the banking details to help these two little ones get all sorted:

Chihuahua Adoptions SA Standard Bank The Glen Branch Code: 006005 Acc No. 046460950
Please send any PoP to [email protected] ❤️🙏

CODY is the little male (father of Chloe) - he is a Chihuahua boy and he is 8 years old.
CHLOE is the little girl (the daughter of Cody) - she is a Min Pin X Chihuahua girl and she is 6 years old.

These little ones, given their tiny size, will be escape artists and therefore, they will need a very SECURE and SAVVY home. Ideally, a tranquil environment in which they can regain their stability again after the turbulence of this last month. NOTE: They will socialise with other dogs once properly introduced and allowed to settle - given their tiny size, we'd prefer not to place them in homes with big dogs. They should be able to integrate with cats - naturally they will just need a bit of time 😊 Their curiosity will lead them to bark at cats at the outset, but with some reinforcement they should get used to cats.

Given what they have been through, and given their bond, we'd like to respect their connection and find them a home TOGETHER. That will be 1st prize. They do have separation anxiety and will try to follow you when you leave.

UPDATE: adopted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had an overwhelming response and are currently working through the applications already received.

Status: Available for adoption Gauteng only
Area: Currently in Meyerton, Gauteng

He is a beautiful little male born 28 June 2023. He came to us after he tried to bite a tenant in the communal garden and his human mommy got notice from the landlord to rehome him otherwise she would have to move and she is a single mom who cannot afford to move. She consulted two veterinarian in the Western Cape and both advised her to put him to sleep.

Imagine this beautiful boy being put to sleep for typical Chihuahua behaviour and acting out because he is suffering from anxiety and basically just being misunderstood.

His human mommy contacted us and asked for help and we decided that the best would be for him to come into our care where we known and understand the breed.

He arrived in Gauteng just before Christmas is currently being fostered by our director, founder and canine behaviourist Lynda Kotzé in Meyerton, Gauteng.

We are happy to report that there is absolutely nothing serious wrong with him.

He is a typical Chihuahua that is aloof and cautious of strangers but once you have spent time with him he becomes the most loving little boy. He just wants to be on your lap, follow you to the bathroom and sleep in your bed. He does have some anxiety and trust issues but in the right home he will blossom and become someone's best friend. He can also be somewhat over protective of his person and will try and react if other dogs in the home come close.

He needs a home a quite home where he is an only dog or have one other little small breed friend preferably female or a laid back male.

He finds is mischievous and curious and will now and again get the urge to chase the cat but has never bitten one. He is also intimidated by big dogs.

If you can offer this boy a home please send us a WhatsApp on 082 886 1151. Adoption Fee, Strict home inspections and terms and conditions apply.

We do however require someone who has vast experience with Chihuahuas and possibly rescue dogs that will understand his challenges to apply.

Update Daisie is back home
It probably was gastro enteritis

What a sad Christmas indeed. Daisie became ill yesterday and after nursing her the whole night last night we decided to visit the vet first thing this morning. She has been admitted with PARVO.🥲 We are still fearing that her two litter mates will also become sick and we are keeping a close eye on them. We will keep everyone updated on her progress. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

She is admitted at Daleside Veterinary Hospital.
