Hello 2024! 🥳

Time to share a bit of what we've been up to and why we've been a bit quiet in the last months of 2023...

I had the incredible opportunity of working as a stud hand at a prestigious local Thoroughbred (racehorse 🏇) stud from August until end of November

I was involved with all aspects of daily life on the stud which included assisting with routine vet and farrier work, helping mares bring their foals into the world and attending covering trips as well as home coverings 🐴

The days were long and demanding and I was often beyond utter exhaustion, but I went to bed every night more content than, dare I say, I have ever been 😇

I learnt so much about the racehorse breeding industry as well as mare and foal handling, management and care 😬 I was also very fortunate to have some experience at Pre-Training - where the young horses are backed and prepared for training - as well as in the the home stallion barn!

I am super excited to use all the soft and hard skills learnt during this time and will forever be grateful for this opportunity.
