This past weekend we hosted a Music Trivia Fundraiser at Eddie Macs at VP 🎶🎼🎸🎧🎸🥁🎙

A massive thank you to all who attended and made the night a huge sucess!

Congratulations to the winners, proving they were the music geniuses of the night and walking away with an amazing wine hamper.

The Save-a-Pet Charity Shop is open tomorrow!

Due to popular demand, our Charity Shop will be open the first Sunday of each month from 9am to 1pm. So more opportunity to shop and support the Save-a-Pet rescue dogs and cats!

On the 16th of February, we had an amazing puppy yoga session at our shelter. Puppies Yelena, Yael, Nacho, Tiramisu and ex Save-a-Pet pup who was recently adopted were loving the attention and playtime with our yoga class. Thanks to the funds raised, we can support our almost 180 shelter cats and dogs. THANK YOU AGAIN to all who made this event a relaxing and fun day in the afternoon sun!

NOTE ON ANIMAL BASED ACTIVITIES: Puppies involved in this puppy yoga session are rescue pups from our shelter who are vaccinated, socialized with both other dogs and groups of people, were given regular breaks, plenty of treats, and access to water on the day, as well as being observed by our in-house animal behaviourist and other staff. When in doubt if the animal-based activity is ethical, rather skip the animal interaction and donate towards an organisation that helps animals.

Tragic update: Diesel's body was found. He had been bitten by a snake. RIP Diesel.

Diesel is a sterilized male from Waterkloof Road, Greenbushes. He was last seen in the morning of 21/2/2025 wearing the blue collar seen in the below pictures.

UPDATE: HOME SAFE, she came home at a little pas midnight 17 hours after she went missing and her family is so happy she is back. Thank you all for sharing and keeping a look out.

THANK YOU to Across the Breeds: Pet Supply Store for recently sending donations towards our almost 180 shelter pets consisting of toys, treats, and other pet items.

Thank you for your continued support with not only donations, but also things like puppy classes and more! It makes a huge difference.

Would you like to volunteer with our pups and dogs on a regular basis?

We are running a training session on 21 February 2025 at 10:00.

This 2.5 hour session is compulsory for those wanting to volunteer with our rescue dogs at Save-a-Pet. Why training sessions? Save-a-Pet staff have put a lot of effort into decreasing stress amongst our animals, teaching them life skills etc. Therefore, we would like everyone interacting with them to do so in a consistent way and using methods approved by our behaviourist.
