The Uaru Cichlid is like the laid-back surfer of the aquarium world. Known for its smooth, oval shape and warm, earthy colors, this fish has a chill vibe that makes it a favorite among aquarists. It’s often called the “Triangle Cichlid” because of its distinctive triangular markings. These peaceful giants can grow up to 25 cm, so they need plenty of space to cruise around. The way Maxhealth was formulated is rather unique, as it does not contain any tallow (cooked fat), intensive farming meat/by-products, fat or digest (digested animal tissue used to enhance palatability). The only animal protein and fat source is ocean fish, thus apart from being an excellent puppy and maintenance, low fat (6 %) and high protein (min. 26-24 % respectively) diet, Maxhealth can also be used to help sensitive dogs.

The Polypterus senegalus, also known as the Senegal bichir or dinosaur eel, is a captivating and unique freshwater fish that hails from the Nile River basin and other parts of Africa. Look at this fascinating creature:

Appearance: The Senegal bichir boasts an elongated, snake-like body covered in tough, prehistoric-looking scales. Growing up to 35+- cm in length, its earthy gray or brown coloration helps it blend seamlessly into its natural habitat.

Fins and Features: One of the coolest aspects of this fish is its row of small dorsal finlets, each tipped with a single spine, giving it an ancient, dinosaur-like vibe. It's no wonder it's nicknamed the dinosaur eel!

Habitat: These remarkable fish thrive in slow-moving waters like swamps and marshes. They have an extraordinary ability to breathe atmospheric air, thanks to a specialized swim bladder, making them adaptable to low-oxygen environments.

Behavior: Senegal bichirs are nocturnal predators, laying low during the day and becoming active hunters at night. In captivity, they enjoy a diet of meaty treats like fish, shrimp, and worms.

Tank Life: To keep a Senegal bichir happy, provide a spacious tank with plenty of hiding spots and a secure lid to prevent any adventurous escapes. They prefer clean, slightly acidic to neutral water.

Tank Mates: While generally peaceful, these fish can be a bit territorial and might snack on much smaller tank mates. They're best paired with other larger, non-aggressive fish.

The Senegal bichir is a fantastic choice for aquarists looking to add a touch of the prehistoric to their tank. Its unique appearance and intriguing behaviors make it a standout addition to any freshwater aquarium
