We send you a catalogue of available patterns and colour pallets.
You select your favourite colour and pattern and we suggest the best trimmings
Your pad then goes into production and is delivered to you upon completion.

A little more on this incredible fabric by that is ultimately our heritage:
The typical use of the fabric is for traditional ceremonies in the rural areas. In certain cases special designs are produced for important occasions such as royal birthdays and national festivals.

We think it’s only fitting that our very first IG post be dedicated to the story behind our logo as well as some previous versions and working forms of it!

Why, you might be thinking, did we choose African-E as our company name?

When developing our brand we were really aware of wanting to combine our love for our continent Africa and our love for horses.

We were pleasantly suprised as to how easily African-E came in to our thought process as our company name.

“African” the first part, fairly self-explanatory, speaks to the continent and the “E” short for Equestrian, but also for the core values of our vision and mission being about encompassing Enrichment, Empowerment (of both Human and Equid) Entrepreneurship.

When it came to designing our logo, we once again wanted to incorperate the above, after many hours staring at the map of Africa it came to us. An ahhh moment, flip the continent and what do you get? A horse head!!!

It was a eureka moment, I mean what more could we want in an icon, a true combination of Africa and horses in one.

And so our logo stamp was born, with many many many re runs and changes along the way. Here are a few we considered until finally setting on the “one” we are using today. Let us know what you think?

We have the privilege of working with these beautiful textiles everyday and this could only happen thanks to textile producers who have stuck to tradition and continued to manufacture these African prints the authentic way.

Todays shout out is to Da Gama textiles for their dedication to producing such beautiful Shweshwe, that we now get to use in our unique products.

Da Gama textiles is one of South Africa's oldest and largest vertically integrated textile producers and holds the internationally recognised brand name Three cats original Shweshwe.
