🚨🐶URGENT FOSTER CARERS OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED🐺🚨
DOGS WAITING

WE ARE NOW TURNING AWAY MORE DOGS THAN WE ARE ABLE TO TAKE IN - dogs waiting in need of URGENT rescue.
Dogs are being EUTHANIZED at an alarming rate.

🚦FOSTERING IS TO SAVE LIVES NOT A SHORT CUT TO ADOPTION!

WHAT YOU NEED:

*STAMINA - dogs will take a while to settle. You must have a calm demeanour and resilience as we can't have dogs needing moving after a few hours or days. We just don't have the space and it's not fair on the dogs
*TIME - some dogs can be left. Some can't and need training to cope. Dogs will need regular exercise and socialization.
*SPACE - including space to keep the dog seperate if neccessary for as long as needed
*GOOD COMMUNICATION. Listen to advice and all the information given.
*FLEXIBILITY & ability to react at short notice
*COMMITMENT to seeing the job through - from taking the dog in foster until their adoption. We only can take a dog when we have an offer of foster. Listen to advice.
*In the BLACK COUNTRY (or very close) and, ideally, able to do vet runs to Merry Hill or a branch of Lockwood vets group.

WHAT WE NEED

*foster carers or foster to adopt. We have lots of great dogs already waiting to come in.
*homes with dog experience
*homes for all shapes and sizes of dogs. We match by need not breed!
* Homes with either no or dog savvy children over 5, either no existing pets or any existing dogs must be neutured and non-reactive - you will have the ability to completely and safely SEPERATE any unassessed dogs if neccessary.
*Carers who understand how trauma can affect dogs.

WE PROVIDE EVERYTHING THE DOG NEEDS.

WE ALSO NEED A COUPLE OF RELIABLE, FLEXIBLE TRANSPORTERS TOO PLEASE - full training given and petrol paid.

Don’t leave your dog to die alone!! So, I heard this story from a friend who works at a vet clinic, and it really hit me hard.

They’re feeling pretty overwhelmed with how often people are dropping off their dogs to be euthanized. It’s tough because, while saying goodbye is super hard for us, it’s even worse for the dogs. They’re already scared and confused, and the last thing they want is to be alone in a place they don’t understand, especially when they’re looking for their owners in their final moments.

Just the other day, this woman brought in her 13-year-old dog to be put to sleep, but the vet was out on farm calls and wouldn’t be back until late in the day. Instead of waiting, she insisted on leaving her dog there all alone for hours, saying she was too busy to come back. My friend ended up spending the day with the dog, taking her for a little walk, and even treating her to a cheeseburger and donut. They laid on the floor together, comforting her while she was scared and confused.

When the time finally came, my friend was there to hold her, telling her she was a good girl. But the heartbreaking part was that the dog’s eyes were always searching for her family. It really drives home the point that dogs know what’s happening, and it’s so important to be there for them in those moments. It might be tough, but being there when they cross that bridge can make all the difference.
