He’s one of our golden oldies. 🧓🐶

Despite being 15 years old, having diabetes, a heart murmur, and being both blind and deaf… looking good is still very important to him! 💅💙

His tail and ears were dyed blue especially for his trip to the vet today. 😄✨

Have you ever heard of the serval cat? These sleek and secretive wildcats are native to Africa and can be found in some parts of Pretoria and greater Gauteng, especially in nature reserves, farmlands, and areas near water.

🌍 Quick Facts About the Serval:

🔸 Scientific Name: Leptailurus serval
🔸 Size: Medium-sized, about 60–100 cm long (excluding tail)
🔸 Weight: 8–18 kg
🔸 Lifespan: Around 10 years in the wild, longer in captivity
🔸 Habitat: Grasslands, wetlands, and savannahs — prefers areas with tall grasses and water

👂 Built for the Hunt:

Servals have exceptionally large ears — perfect for detecting prey like rodents, birds, frogs, and insects. They can leap up to 3 meters in a single bound to catch birds mid-air. 🐭🦗🦆

⚠️ Are Servals Dangerous?
