We spent a few hours with the treasures yesterday and they got some tuna, cat nip and a few new toys for some festive play.

Happy Monday! 🐈 😺
We would like to thank everyone who has made food donations in the last 2 weeks!
Myself and Caela were in Cape Town for work and weren't able to take pictures of the generous amounts of food we received.
The kitties have definitely been well looked after by our amazing followers ❤️

Today is a very sad day for our colony.
Daisy crossed the rainbow bridge this morning 🌄🌼

Daisy has been on the mend recently. A few weeks ago we noticed that she was starting to lose condition and appeared to be losing weight. We gave her a course of broadspectrum antibiotics, deworming and some Royal Canin food for the extra protein and healthy fats.

Daisy was absolutely smitten with the delicious food and all the attention, her condition started to improve and was starting to gain some weight.

Despite all our efforts, Daisy became quite ill yesterday. We managed to get her in a cat carrier and off to the vet where she spent the night well looked after.

Due to her being feral, she needed to be sedated to minimise stress on her and for ease of handling, so that the vets could draw blood for testing.

Daisy sadly tested positive for Feline Leukemia - FeLV.

Although she tested negative when she was spayed last year, it is possible for cats to contract this disease at any stage of their life should they come in contact with a FeLV positive cat.

Our entire colony was tested when neutered & spayed - they were all negative. Unfortunately when it comes to feral colonies, any unknown cat can enter at any time.

Daisy was always the first cat to arrive at feeding time, we were privileged enough to be able to touch her but most of all, we were honoured to be able to show Daisy what it felt like to be loved and she was loved by many ❤️

Thank you for trusting us Daisy, you will always be our special tortie.

We will miss you terribly!
