URGENT NEWS ON DANGER

Earlier this morning, we received a heartbreaking call from Danger’s owner. Danger is extremely unwell — not eating, struggling to walk, and in critical condition.

He has been admitted to the vet and is on a drip. Tests confirmed tick fever and a severe tick bite Fever. This is a very serious situation, and Danger needs all the support he can get.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed to our account since September. Your generosity is literally saving his life, and many others.

OUTREACH PART 2 – A REAL EMERGENCY

After the setback with two flat tyres, we were determined to continue with outreach. On arrival, we were urgently called to see a dog…

A beautiful black boy named Sheba. His owner, Johannes, told us he had been in a fight. When we gently lifted his neck, the sight was horrifying — the entire neck was torn open, with arteries and his throat exposed.

We rushed Sheba to our vet, where he was immediately hospitalized and stitched up. He is now recovering but his throat is extremely sore, so he needs soft food to eat.

Donations of puppy food or tins (soft food like Sheba)

We can only help dogs like Sheba when you help us. This was a real emergency, and your support makes it possible for us to respond when animals need us !

A FEW OF OUR CATS IN MARIKANA Mphumalanga
South Africa

Always such a highlight to see the cats of Marikana during our outreaches. They live tough little lives – no litter boxes, always on the lookout for dogs, and sometimes even chased by people… yet they remain so full of character and resilience.

We’ve been blessed to watch some of them grow from tiny kittens into proud, confident cats. Seeing their faces every outreach truly warms our hearts.

PART 1 – Outreach in Marikana and Afghanistan

What a heartbreaking start to our outreach…
Before the sun was even up, disaster struck – not one, but two flat tyres on our only vehicle. This is the very same car we use for every outreach, our own private vehicle, and without it we are stranded… and so are the animals waiting for us.

The weight of that moment was crushing. How do you carry on when your only lifeline breaks down? But then – hope. In Kinross, we found helping hands and skillful men who stepped up without hesitation, repairing what felt impossible.

To the men in our team – you are our rock. You don’t wait, you don’t question – you act. Because of you, the road ahead was opened again, and the animals could not be helped.

This is not the first or second time we had 2 flat tyres on an outreach !

🐾 Dog and cat Food Needed 🐾

Our outreach work takes us deep into the townships where so many dogs depend on us for their next meal. Too often, we find empty bowls and hungry eyes waiting at the gates.

Right now, we are in urgent need of dog food donations to keep going through September and the months ahead.

Every bag, big or small, makes it possible for us to fill a tummy and bring comfort to a loyal friend who has nothing else.

If you are able to help, we will gladly arrange collection. Together we can make sure no dog goes hungry.

MEET GINGER

Gentle Ginger lives in one of our townships. He is sterilised, peaceful, and even helps his owner at their little tuckshop.

But sadly, not all dogs are friendly, and with many yards unfenced, Ginger was attacked. He was bitten and tossed around—his leg torn open so badly that our vet had to work delicately to stitch what little flesh was left.

Ginger has now been back for a second procedure. The road to healing is slow, but we are holding onto hope that he will recover fully.

His vet bill has already reached R1000. If you are able to help cover Ginger’s medical costs, every contribution means the world.

TWO LIVES IN OUR HANDS

On outreach in Marikana, we found two dogs so malnourished it stopped us in our tracks.

Starting in a new extension or area is always heartbreaking

Their circumstances of the owner is bad after losing is work and income.

All suffers! But we can bring hope!

🐶 Thor is now in our care. In only two weeks, food and kindness have already transformed him. But he still needs to be sterilised urgently — we cannot risk him going back to the same cycle.
Thank you for the people helping !

The female girl we found is worse. Her body is paper thin, her eyes empty from exhaustion. She cannot be sterilised right now — she is far too weak. All she has ever known is giving birth to litter after litter of puppies. Unless we can place her in a foster home for just a month to recover, that’s all her life will ever be.

We are begging — help us rewrite their story.

🐾 Donations for their vet costs can be paid directly into our Evander Vet account.

🐾 We also urgently need dog and cat food donations — our outreach animals and fosters depend on this lifeline.

Please, if your heart is breaking reading this, let it move you to action. These animals have no voice but ours.

A FEW CATS IN HOLFONTEIN 💔 Mphumalanga South Africa

How privileged we are to know them, love them, and help care for them. They are so gorgeous, and many are beautifully cared for. But our hearts ache… because they are also so vulnerable.

These cats have no sandboxes. To relieve themselves, they must go outside—onto streets that are not safe, especially with dogs roaming. It’s a risk they should never have to face.

We dream of a safer, kinder way for them… and you can help us make it possible. By supporting us with cat sandboxes and sand, you give these precious lives dignity, safety, and comfort.
