This mare has been roaming the streets of Steynsburg for months. The community and SPCA has tried to get the owner to care for her or euthanase it. She was brought into SAH on Heritage day and now a fund has been created to treat her and find a decent home. She also got a friend.

Karooveld Bonsmaras had an excellent bull sale on 17 September. This bull fetched the top price and the average price was more than R75 000. Years of hard work and dedication by Dirk has made this one of the leading studs. Well done!

Wandile Kay Khave is making a big difference to the community livestock with help of our sponsors. Diseases often break out in communal areas and we can improve biosecurity for all farmers by disease surveillance and prevention in the communal herds

Wandile Kay Khave and I provide herd health and production services to communal herds in Molteno and Sterkstroom. The cattle races are poor and we have designed and manufactured our own. We collected blood from nearly 700 rams for testing for Brucella ovis today and yesterday. All Konsortium Merino rams that are presented on sales are also examined clinically.

Great team spirit as always. We keep an eye on the Konsortium group's biosecurity and herd health management. Looking foreward to the sales early next year - great flock of youngsters being prepared.
