SAVANNALANDS KENNELS & CATTERY IS HIRING.

A wonderful opportunity exists for the right person. I am looking for someone who is passionate about animals, has a maturity about them, but is fit & healthy, someone who is presentable and articulate enough to deal with my clients, to assure them that their pets are safe in our hands. You will ideally have no dependants, and be located in Plettenberg Bay / The Crags or surrounds. You need to have your own reliable, light motor vehicle to get to and from work, with unendorsed driver’s licence for a manual car, as you will need to drive our vehicles.

I am looking for a calm, capable and enthusiastic person with initiative who holds themselves to high standards. I am a perfectionist and need a right-hand person who feels the same way I do.

This is a full-time position, which I need to fill as soon as you are ready. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Walking, feeding and caring for the dogs that board with me - we walk them three times a day. This includes picking up dog poo which is what I do regularly;

Feeding, tending to and gently caring for the cats that board with me, including cleaning each kennel;

Walking our (14) Golden Retrievers around our property twice daily and feeding them, together with our own 4 cats. We feed raw food and each dog and cat has its own customised supplement plan according to its needs.

I don’t have any current plans, might consider a litter towards the end of this year, but I do breed Golden Retrievers from time to time, usually only every year or two, so help with them if you have the relevant experience would be useful, but in any case most Savannalands duties would be on your shoulders when I do have puppies as I am with them pretty much 24/7 from birth until they go to their new homes.

I am the distributor in our area for the Doggobone raw food that I feed to our animals, so your duties would include delivering twice weekly to my clients in Plett and Knysna, in my vehicle.

Any admin experience wouldn't go amiss as invoices need to be done, filing, bank recons, etc. Computer literacy is imperative, at least in as far as emails are concerned. A work cellphone will be provided, but if you have your own laptop, that is a plus.

If you have other skills that you feel you could bring to the table, such as grooming, animal physio, veterinary skills, dog training, or the like, we could look at setting up something together here at Savannalands to enhance our existing offering, so let’s talk.

Remuneration package is negotiable for the right person.

FRIDAY 15 SEPTEMBER it is happening, Stu our quiz master is on top form, bringing us yet another fabulous, fun-filled evening.
