Puppy Tips
1. 6-10 weeks is considered an ideal age for a puppy to move to a new home.We prefer 8weeks.
2. Prevention of unplanned litters is an important part of responsible pet ownership. Talk to your veterinarian about the best time to have your puppy spayed or neutered.
3. When possible, meet the puppy's parents, their temperaments are often a good indicator of what the puppy's temperament will be.
4. If you're getting a puppy from as a 2nd pet, remember that some older pets may be less tolerant of a puppy's behaviour. Ask your vet or dog trainer about introducing your into its new animal family.
5. Proper socialization of puppies during critical socialization period (3-14weeks of age) has a big impact on your dog's behaviour for the rest of its life. See avma.org/socialization
6. Consult with your veterinarian to determine how best to care for your dog including preventive health care socialization and training.

The most urgentpriority is to socialize your puppy to a wide variety of people, especially children, men, and strangers, before he is twelve weeks old. Well-socialized puppies grow up to be wonderful companions, whereas antisocial dogs are difficult, time-consuming, and potentially dangerous. Your puppy needs to learn to enjoy the company of all people and to enjoy being handled by all people, especially children and strangers.

As a rule of thumb, your puppy needs to meet at least a hundred people before he is three months old. Since your puppy is still too young to venture out on the streets, you'll need to start inviting people to your home right away. Basically, you'll need to have lots of puppy parties and invite friends over to handfeed your pup and train him for you.
