Saving Savannah
Savannah is the purest soul I have ever met, and I am DETERMINED to find her a home filled with love, kindness and patience, because she deserves nothing less 🤎 Will you help me?
Savannah spent her WHOLE life on the streets and in a shelter, experiencing a home for the first time when she became our foster at four years old...
She wasn’t socialized with people at all, but no matter how terrified she was (and she WAS terrified!), she never growled, never snapped, never betrayed her humble, kind nature.
It took a week to get her to sleep on a bed, instead of hiding in the wet bushes at the end of our garden.
It took 3 more weeks for her to come inside.
And it took almost 2 months for her to trust me enough to touch her (without her legs shaking in fear).
Throughout it all, she was gentle and respectful of the other dog and cats in the house.
Today, over 3 months since she first came to us, she is loved and loving. She offers her sweet little head, gently, for a kiss. She snuggles on the couch to watch movies on cold winter days. She rolls on the grass and smiles with her mouth wide open. She zoomies when her zest for her new found life overwhelms her.
Savannah adores other dogs, respects cats, and loves children. She is calm and gentle, while also playful and quirky. She loves walks and adventures, but can just as happily do without them. She doesn’t dig, chew or bark incessantly. She is healthy. She is grateful. She is everything.
While she’s learnt to trust humans, she will need a calm home, and gentle humans who will treat her with kindness and patience as she takes her time to settle into her forever home.
And once she does? Well, she will be the most loyal, loving, adorable companion anyone could wish for.
Earning Savannah’s trust feels like one of the most important things I’ve ever done. I know that the right person/people are out there. If you think you might be them, feel free to inbox me for more details. If you’re not the
It’s me, Molly!

Thank you Foster Love Animal Rescue!
My coworkers aren’t big on personal space 🤦🏻♀️ But I definitely feel valued!
Savannah is so ready to find her forever home, now👏 She’s very comfortable in a home environment, and knows what love feels like ❤️ Please inbox me if you are interested in adopting. Adoption process will be handled through Fallen Angels Pet Rescue
Remember the pic I posted the day Savannah arrived? You know, the one where her tail was tucked firmly between her legs?
Well, Savannah smiles and wags her tail every day now. She’s become used to doors, beds, leashes and the sounds of washing machines, coffee grinders and other household appliances.
Her favourite time of the day? Afternoon walks❤️
Savannah update
And we’re back!
The hounds and I have been MIA for a while, and many of our followers have been asking about Savannah🦊
Nothing bad has happened, in fact, Savannah has made some AMAZING progress over the past few weeks! I’ve just had a particularly busy time with work (I work from home, but it’s still fulltime 😅)
Savannah is now totally chilled when I give her love, and she’s even started coming to me to get it❤️ This tells me that she’s not just unafraid of human touch, she’s actually starting to enjoy it.
More updates coming soon!
WOOOHOOOOO!
We have contact! 🎉 A really poor quality video (I was caught off-guard!), but we have contact!
I quickly popped to her bed to see how Savannah was doing and BAM, she didn’t move away when I reached my hand out and BAM, she STILL didn’t move away when I started to stroke her head. Day made!

SAVANNAH UPDATE 🌾
Savannah spent the first few days trying to make herself disappear. She hid in the bushes at the furthest end of our garden, which considering she’s never had a home before, must have felt like the most natural place to be.
Happily, she has since SLOWLY but surely been making her way to the house, and even wags her tail when I say her name💕
Thanks to Vondi's Holistic Pet Nutrition Reuben went from hungry, tired and itchy to happy, healthy and fluffy in just 3 weeks! And 2 days later, he went home - furever💕
Whenever Thomas winks at me I always wink back, just in case it’s some kind of secret code😉
SOUND ON🎧
Lazy Saturday morning here at Girl and Hound, just ask Reuben😴
