RAGUEL IS HOME
It sometimes happens in life that we feel we can’t give more, and then the universe asks us to do just that: extend ourselves further.
Rescue does this at the most taxing times when we are overfull, financially strained, facing mounting vet bills, and short-staffed.
In the last week, from the same premises where we rescued two abandoned mommy cats and six kittens in December, we were notified that there were a further two small kittens and three tame cats starving on the vacant premises.
We are full up in all our living areas for Rescues. We just don’t have the space for one more cat or kitten, yet when presented with the dilemma of this abandoned family, we made a plan.
And then Raguel and her adorable kitten needed refuge from the streets. How could we possibly take in two more lives with no space available? But the bigger question is, how could we turn them away? We then learned that Raguel is blind. How did a stray mommy cat care for herself and her baby?
The inner lid appears folded onto the one pupil, and the other eye seems very clouded. She is on a course of antibiotics and alternating between viral and antibiotic eye drops.
Ideally, we need to get her seen by the Animal Eye Hospital; maybe, just maybe, some of her sight can be restored, even if to the one eye that appears less damaged.
Please donate and help us give this discarded, sweet mommy cat the medical attention she needs and deserves.
