Dogs have a “second nose” called the vomeronasal organ (Jacobson’s organ), which helps them detect pheromones—chemical signals that reveal emotions, stress, and even illness! 🤯

🐶 Unlike their regular sense of smell, this organ picks up on invisible messages from people, other animals, and their environment.

✨ Here’s how it works:

🐾 When a dog smells something intriguing, they may curl their lips or lick their nose—this helps direct the scent to Jacobson’s organ.
🐾 They can sense fear, happiness, or stress just from the chemical changes in your body.
🐾 They recognize other dogs’ emotions, mating status, and even territorial markings without a single bark exchanged.
🐾 Some trained dogs can even detect cancer, seizures, and infections by picking up changes in human body chemistry!
