For one, the walker is getting dragged into the road by the staffie, the leads are tangled and the poor Daxi is getting dragged behind by its neck. Take a look at their body language, is this serving the dogs? Below are a few points on why this type walk does not benefit your dogs:

1. Stress and Overwhelm: Pack walks can be overwhelming for dogs, exposing them to multiple stimuli that may cause stress and anxiety, especially for those not well-socialized.

2. Behavioral Imitation: Dogs often mimic each other's behaviors during pack walks, potentially reinforcing negative habits and making it harder for owners to address specific behavioral issues.

3. Limited Individual Attention: The group setting makes it challenging for owners to provide individual attention, hindering personalized training and attention to each dog's unique needs.

4. Increased Risk of Aggression: Pack walks heighten the risk of aggressive incidents, as not all dogs may get along, leading to conflicts over territory, resources, or social hierarchy.

5. Training Challenges: Focused training becomes difficult in a pack walk, slowing down the learning process and impeding the development of desired behaviors in dogs.

Instead, consider booking individual dog walks through What a Treat for a more personalized and attentive experience. Here, your dog can receive the one-on-one care they deserve, tailored to their unique needs. This ensures a stress-free environment, focused training, and the opportunity for your furry friend to thrive with undivided attention. Choosing walks with What a Treat allows for a safer and more enjoyable experience for your furkid.

What A Treat

What A Treat is a Cape Town based pet sitting company run by two sisters. Roxy and Caity are both Master's students and started What A Treat because they miss Bart, their dog back home in Durban. They know, from growing up with pets, how much love and care they need, especially when their owners are away.

What A Treat is here for you to rely on. You can trust us to follow your feeding schedule and walkies times to the tee and offer endless cuddles along with lots of play time. Sit back, relax and enjoy your time away, knowing that your furkid isn't alone in the dark tonight - because we stay with them in your home.

Here at What A Treat we strive to build a trusting and long term relationship with both you, as owners, and with your pets. That way your pets get comfy with us when you are away, making their time apart from you less stressfull. We are on call 24/7 when on duty and will send regular pupdates too.
