My Gratitude for having a safe space; for a new day and for so much unconditional love!

They know - It’s Sunday & I absolutely love the excitement for park day……..

When life hits you like a canon ball

For those who know or don’t know……..

On Friday afternoon Raven literally fell over like a brick. Plopped over - in an instant.
My reaction fu&* hell & started shouting at everyone in the house what to do incl Dad.
Maysi frantic sniffing & pouncing by Ravens side -
In the car & on the phone rushed to TAH hospital where we waited & waited and waited for what felt like a lifetime.

Back home feeling dazed, confused & trying to rewind the moments & hours, waiting for news - it only came on Saturday morning - X-rays showes nothing!
A million frantic phone calls; loads of tears & emotional overloads - we collected Ravens & drove to Vetscape - here he would be admitted & awaiting MRI
(Did you know there is NO veterinary MRI facility?!) did you know the cost is also more than double for various reasons

Once again we waited - again minutes felt like hours & hours was like eternity

The most amazing human eventually showed her face Dr Maryna.
Harold relaxed a bit and I had to let go……. Once again - leaving my boy with strangers - who promised to take care of him!
Guess what! They did Doc Maryna did & send me updates and encouragement - as Sunday felt like an eternity of hell & so did Monday- until eventually I received the message that Raven had his MRI & on his way back to hospital.

Let me tell you - waiting on news with a mind rushing around in all directions ain’t fun or funny. Nor is crying so much that there is no more tears……..

Yesterday we were allowed to visit Raven - that’s Tuesday! A bloody long time…… let me tell you.

Last night I eventually slept. A good solid maybe 4 hours & today I can breathe and feel hopeful.

Diagnosis: spinal stroke
This is not surgically fixable - so this means…….. putting my big girl panties on and tackle whatever it will be 4weeks; 12 weeks who know of keeping a Staffy still; resting; physio & whatever, hopeing that he will gain strength & mobility.

I do believe: “when life gives you lemons” make lemonade; sorbet & marmalade” but sometimes tasting the lemons ain’t easy or what you expected.

Sunday RANT

Every Sunday we go “parking” & then hop back into bed on our return.

Now this Missy…… Madam Maysi without fail does a lie in!
BUT…….. never makes the bed!…….. momma says its unfair & Maysi should start pulling her weight around the house

Should Maysi be on a snack restriction “punishment”???

Me & my big sis Maysi went exploring in the hood today and I found something that needs taking care of.
It is really worrying, as it didn’t look healthy. Maysi said even the creatures looked a bit odd.
I’m worried that there will not be enough food for us all

A love no greater than this!

As I scroll through thousands of photos - a memory bank and life events reminder - I once again realize that this boy of mine, might be “attached to my umbilical cord” & might also get extremely anxious when he doesn’t know where I am
BUT his love is equally matched!

I have never known a love like this.
& I thank the universe every day for sending him my way

He knows my moods, my emotional state and physical conditions & responds to each without fail in his own way

My heart is full & my soul calm for having you by my side - every day is pawsable in so many ways
