Held a clinic last Saturday with some young riders. They learned how to lunge for respect and moving a horse's feet with and without a lunge line 🐴🐎

On the trail is some of the best places to school a horse. It builds confidence and provides many obstacles to do differant schoolwork. It builds a solid horse overall.

This is Priscilla, and her 9-year old mare, Lilla. Priscilla and Lilla are the same age, although a little different in size☺️ Lilla is receiving correctional training for behaviour, and Priscilla is learning to handle and receive respect from Lilla.

I used to trail behind Oupa Hansie (who I am also named after🙂), playing with his riding crop, pretending to be riding on his old saddle that hung over a ladder in his workshop.
Oupa Hansie taught me to not only love, but to care for animals, horses in particular.

Lunging for respect successfully applied. This 7-year old mare has never been touched until she came for training at HATIFA about a month ago.
