As you all know, I've been quiet for a long time... Farm life/self sustainable living is not always easy and can be a very costly affair (both financially and mentally) when things go wrong. And man, oh man, did things go wrong.😢😭 My heart is heavy but I guess sometimes life just doesn't work out the way you want it to. So for the next couple of weeks I'll be posting the last of my products for sale as well as some other farm and household items as I will have to probably put my property on the market soon. Please support me where you can, it would really be appreciated. It's been a journey and my heart is broken but hopefully another door will open for me soon.

The Trumpeter Hornbills also arrived back again yesterday. They have a stopover here every year, always on a Sunday. Usually they will be here every Sunday for about 3 weeks then they are gone for the rest of the year. Not the best footage but their sound is amazing, super loud, you can't miss their arrival.

Roselle season is in full swing. Harvested some beautiful chillies. (Habanero, Red Serrano, Bishops Crown, Peppadews) that I will start to process today after deliveries. Made some Grape jelly and kiwi jam. Still need to do another batch of Kiwi Chutney and dried kiwis then kiwipocolypse will be over. Brinjals are finally making some fruits for Curried Brinjal Pickle. 🙈😂🎉

Morning walk on Komorebi. 🌥️My Delicious Monster produced another fruit, I can't wait for it to ripen. 😁 Looks like we might get a few quince this year, if the birds and monkeys don't steal them. Also some more bunches of bananas on the trees. Harvested some Rajah chillies and some yard long beans that had some damage due to weather. The bean plants seem to be recovering though, hopefully we'll still have a great harvest this season.

The strangest thing happened to me today. As I was heading back from Aunty Joey who lives at the top of our dirt road I saw a massive black mamba in the road. With the noise of the bakkie he scurried away into the tall grass but then I saw the chameleon I'm sure he wanted as his lunch. Just chilling in the middle of the road. So I stopped to pick up the chameleon. He immediately climbed onto my head. About 3km further down the road on our little "2 spoor padjie" I couldn't believe my eyes... Another chameleon in the middle of the dirt road. What are the chances??? So I stopped to pick up that one as well. The people speed on our gravel road and they might have been killed. Got home, wanted to take a photo, realized my phone must have fallen out at the second sighting. Got back in the bakkie to go look for my phone. Found it on the ground where I picked up the second chameleon, screen cracked but still working. Back home I set them free in my tunnel as there are lots of bugs eating my vegetables in there, maybe they can do some pest control. They disappeared so quickly in the dense cucumber vines. If anyone has any knowledge, please let me know if I should move them somewhere else. It's a big 30x10 tunnel with lots of plants inside. Could this be a sign of good luck?

This morning's harvest. One Guavadilla that the monkeys didn't steal🙈, mangoes, Catawba Grapes (Glippertjies), Roselle, Blue Butterfly Pea Flower, Bishops Crown chilli and the first little air potato starting to form. 😁

Roselle season is starting. 🎉🎉The plants are still recovering from rain, heat, locust and ants. But I managed to harvest some calyxes this morning. 🌈💫

I have this plant in my tunnel that none of us could remember what we planted. Amos, Petrus and I decided to let it grow. Today I saw some African Horned cucumber/melons hanging. I'm so happy, what a great surprise 🎉

Been harvesting some tomatoes (green and red) for different sauces and jams. As well as some beautiful chillies. 🍅🌶️ The Loofah plant seems to have recovered and the cucumber is growing like crazy. Some small cucumbers forming.
