Meet Sutton ❤️

I haven’t been great at updating this page but we have been fostering this beautiful girl from a colony in Hammarsdale that is being taken care of by Fed and Fixed

It is a new project and they are in need of lots of support to get all the cats sterried and cared for 🙏🏼

In the meantime, this little one was nearing the age when it starts to get tricky to tame a kitten and with all the bad weather we’ve been having, I just really wanted to help in some way and fostering is the way I know how.

Thankfully, Nicole was supportive as always and even better, Nicole’s sister and her husband will be adopting Sutton 💙 she leaves for her new home in Cape Town on Friday and we’re so glad that she was able to become adoptable super fast and will never be having kittens of her own 🙏🏼

It may feel like a small win in the greater scheme of things, but it’s a whole new life for Sutton that she would not have had otherwise and the sterries being done for her colony is what will make the world of difference 🙏🏼

Last but certainly not least came an update from my favourite ginger family 🧡 Liz and Ty are the very proud and dedicated pawrents of Penny and Enzo - both adopted from us! 😁

They are such happy little ones and scored big time with their family.

Another special update from Nova (previously Sushi) who has been in her forever home for a year now!

We honestly weren’t sure what the future held for this girl as she had been seriously hurt by humans and was struggling. But somehow, the most perfect mom named Shona found her.

Nova is the ideal name as this is a complete different cat who has healed and thrived in her second life.

Thank you Shona and family for helping to restore our faith in humanity.

Second chance needed 🙏🏼

Darling Scottie is in need of a special second chance after being abandoned.

He is an adult kitty of around 6/7 years old and is INCREDIBLY loving. He is the ideal companion for a family or singleton or retiree - he hasn’t met a person he doesn’t adore. 🥰

He has tested negative for FIV/Felv, is neutered and has received his first set of vaccinations. He has also been dewormed and treated for fleas.

This special boy is used to other animals and while he loves to be outdoors, he really needs a loving human and cozy corner to come home to between adventures.

He is not doing very well in his foster home as mom works long hours in an office. He needs to find his perfect home asap 🩷

Nyla is a beautiful flame point female kitten of 7 weeks old. 🩷 She was rescued after being presumably dumped (together with her brother, who has already found a home).

Nyla has had a tough start to life having now recovered from limping calici virus, which left her unable to use her back legs for a period of time.

We are pleased that she is zooming around and purring up a storm these days! She will make a fantastic addition to your home.

Nyla would suit a quiet home with someone who is either around for most of the day or has other cats, as she gets lonely easily.

She is not socialised to dogs or children but is extremely loving towards humans and loves other cats.

Her outside time would need to limited due to her pink features being susceptible to sunburn. 🙏🏼

She would be better suited to a home without small children and dogs, as she is easily started by high energy. Her outside time will also need to limited due to her pink features being susceptible to sunburn. 🙏🏼

Nyla is a sweet, gentle and purry kitten with lots of love to give. She will be an amazing addition to a loving home.

Welcome to Five Peas in a Pod!

Hello and welcome to our page! You may have stumbled across us on Instagram, but we’re here because we have big plans for the future. We can’t wait to share this journey with you and to get to know you more!

We’re five South African rescued kitties with two VERY loving moms. Our momager started our Instagram account as a way to document our progress and also to share all of our foster siblings. Our moms have fostered about 70 kittens, including a few of us! She now hopes to share more, connect more, and offer a space for resourceful communal learning.

This is us:

PAISLEY - the original Pea! She was adopted from PMB Kitten Rescue & Fostering as a tiny baby calico. We don’t know much about her background except that she was found having fallen in a pond.
