Pets, it turns out, also have last wishes before they die, but only known by veterinarians who put old and sick animals to sleep. Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what was the most difficult part of his job.
The specialist answered without hesitation that it was the hardest for him to see how old or sick animals look for their owners with the eyes of their owners before going to sleep. The fact is that 90 % of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so that they don't see their pet leave. But they don't realize that it's in these last moments of life that their pet needs them most.
Veterinarians ask the owners to be close to the animals until the very end. "It's inevitable that they die before you. Don't forget that you were the center of their life. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. No matter how hard it is, don't leave them.
Don't let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they don't like. It is very painful for veterinarians to see how pets cannot find their owner during the last minutes of their life. They don't understand why the owner left them. After all, they needed their owner’s consolation.
Veterinarians do everything possible to ensure that animals are not so scared, but they are completely strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the pet. Endure this pain for the sake of their sake. Be with them until the end."

**Try walk the street you’re in & the one behind and call late at night and early morning (as late as possible, if safe, and take your torch so you can see cats eyes shine). This is when cats are most likely to hear and respond.
**Cats are curious (or could be frightened) and get stuck up trees, in drains, in bushes, in garages, gardens, under wendy houses, on roofs, over walls, and often can’t get back.
Sometimes they’re not even a few 100 meters from you.
**Call daily and especially in the early days of them being lost - its a critical window period.
*Leave food on boundary walls, leave their sandbox outside, or sprinkle used kitty litter as far as you can.
* Speak to all neighbors in your entire street

We are always reluctant to expose pet sitters that under perform.
Unfortunately this Durbanville Pet Sitter (whose' name we will keep anonymous for now) has done our profession a huge injustice and brought disdain to all hardworking, honest pet sitters. Fortunately this is isolated to this lady, who must bear the brunt of any backlash from the community. PLEASE NOTE: This lady is not certified OR a member of PSCT. She has no affiliation to our company and operates alone. All to often, we receive distressed calls for concerned pet owners who request our services when things go south. Please note the following when dealing with any pet sitters: 1) Always ask for at least 3 recent contactable references. 2) Always have an in-person interview at least a week before leaving to access the sitters ability to understand your needs and pet compatibility. 3) Make sure your sitter has contactable references, a registration form and and accountability legal agreement. 4) Lastly, inform your neighbours of your absence ICE. Neighbours make great lookouts and provide real feedback. In 2018 we had a disaster of losing half our shelter due to flooding of the the riverbank that broke!

Here we go again!!!!! WE NEED TO GET ATLEAST HALF OUR SHELTER DOGS WHO'S CAMPS ARE COMPLETELY UNDER WATER INTO FOSTER HOMES IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

Unfortunately some dogs are unsocial, but there are many doggos who will do well in a foster home with other doggies!

We, our animals, need you now more than ever!!!! They are soaking wet and freezing cold!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
