We are in desperate need of dog treats please 🙏🏻
Although this is probably considered a luxury, for us it's quite a necessity! And we rarely have any at the kennels. We use these types of dog treats to photograph our kennel dogs, which is a vital part in getting them adopted. Our inspectors have huge success in winning over aggressive and scared dogs with these treats. And we use these treats in consultation with difficult and uncooperative dogs! We will be incredibly grateful for any donations. - Food Aggressive Dogs

Food aggression is a territorial reaction a dog experiences when eating meals or treats, in which they use hostile behavior to guard their food. Food aggression is quite common in dogs. One study reported that nearly 20 percent of all dogs show signs of food aggression.
This aggression is a form of resource guarding - a behavior passed down through evolution, when dogs needed to protect every meal or resource they had. Resource guarding differs slightly though - it describes a behavior that is defensive of any object they consider to be of high value, not just their food.
First things first, consider spaying or neutering your dog. Hormones can be the cause of aggression, and spaying or neutering may help reduce these tendencies.

Here are some of the techniques you can use:
Hand feeding: Start your dog’s meal by giving him food by hand, and use your hands to put the food in the bowl, which will give it your scent. The goal is to get your dog used to eating while your hands are around his face, and to have no aggressive reaction if you stick your hands in or near the bowl while he’s eating.
Treat tossing: Drop your dog’s favorite treats into the bowl while she’s eating so she’ll learn that people approaching the bowl is a good thing and not a threat. You can also put treats into the bowl when you walk near it and she’s not eating. This reinforces the connection in your dog’s mind that people near her bowl is good.
“Trade-Up”: When your dog is eating their regular food, approach them with something better, like meat or a special treat. The goal here is to get your dog to stop eating their food to take the treat from you. This teaches your dog several things. One is that no one is going to steal his food if he looks away from it. The other is that removing his attention from his food when people come around leads to a reward.
