SPENCER!

German Shepherd lovers this one is right up your alley!

Spencer was found severely underweight and he had mange. Fast forward 5 months and this middle aged lad has a happy skin and a very happy tummy.

We would love to find him a home that understands the breed. He is still full of energy and he has so much love to give to a special family that would reciprocate his love.

He enjoys walks, car rides, food and ear scratches.

Hi everyone
As you all know, we do a lot of work in the townships. In the last few weeks, we have discovered a HUGE need for kennels in Lwandle and Nomzamo. There are many dogs that are well looked after and belong to families, but have no shelter. We are in desperate need of kennels 🙏🏻🙏🏻 If anyone has got medium sized kennels at home that they are not using please let us know. If anyone would like to sponsor a kennel we have a lovely gentleman who is making medium size kennels for R650. He does this to support his family. He makes them and delivers them to the new owner. If anyone is in a position to help please WhatsApp Clare on 083 697 4759. Unfortunately we are not able to collect kennels outside of the Helderberg area. Thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Today, on youth day, we are launching Waste for Wags, where we plan to ask restaurants to keep us their scraps ( no bones please), to cook for the community dog feeding scheme. We are very excited for this initiative as it would provide a sustainable food source for the hungry hounds.
We are busy sourcing buckets and setting a system up 😊🐾

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to All! 🌟

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to every single person who has extended a helping hand, offered support, and showed immense kindness during our flooding disaster. Your unwavering commitment to our shelter and the welfare of our animals has truly touched our hearts.

First and foremost, a special shoutout goes to GL Conradie Group for their remarkable efforts in arranging and facilitating the cleanup of the overgrown river. We are incredibly grateful to PIET Fourie PLANT HIRE for their invaluable assistance and for swiftly tackling the daunting task of clearing the debris. Thanks to their dedication and the permission obtained from the National Environmental Affairs, we are now one step closer to restoring normalcy.

A heartfelt thank you also goes out to Vetus Schola Group for their remarkable support. They graciously opened their kennels and took in 14 of our dogs, providing them with shelter and sponsoring their food for an entire week. Your generosity and care have made a significant difference in the lives of these animals during this challenging time.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to all the other fosters who have opened their hearts and homes to our animals. Your selflessness and compassion are truly inspiring. To the individuals who have donated and organized blanket and food drives, we are immensely grateful for your contributions. Your support has helped us provide comfort and nourishment to our beloved furry friends.

We cannot overlook the incredible power of sharing and prayers. To everyone who has shared our updates, spread the word about our shelter, and sent their prayers our way, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your acts of kindness have not only raised awareness but have also brought hope and strength to our shelter and its inhabitants.

While we have made significant progress in ensuring the safety and well-being of our animals, there is still much to be done in terms of damage control. Our staff members have been tirelessly working through this difficult period and are in dire need of essential supplies. We kindly request donations of clothes (size 32), jackets (medium), boots (size 8 and 9), socks (tick and warm), and food to support them during this time. Additionally, the wendy houses used by our staff are severely damaged and require urgent replacement. Any assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Moreover, we will continue to need dry blankets, towels, strong rubbish bags, paving materials, shovels, and other necessary tools to aid in the recovery and restoration process. If you would like a full wish list or wish to contribute in any way, please provide us with your email address, and we will reach out to you promptly.

Once again, we cannot express our gratitude enough for the overwhelming support we have received during this trying period. Your generosity and compassion have touched the lives of both our animals and our dedicated staff members. Together, we can overcome the challenges that lie ahead and rebuild a brighter future for our shelter and the wonderful creatures under our care.
