Today's topic is about Grace through faith, a vital teaching in the Gospel. This concept reveals how you perceive your relationship with God. Over the past couple of weeks, our church has delved into this teaching, emphasizing its importance.
Our core verse is Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Paul asserts that Grace is a gift from God. This gift is everything that Jesus accomplished on the cross for us. For example, we have God's power within us (Ephesians 1:19-20), His righteousness and healing (1 Peter 2:24), and prosperity (2 Corinthians 8:9).
Now, faith is more than mere belief; it transcends doubt. For instance, my dad is a skilled panel be**er and I bump my car , I trust that he can fix my car, that trust is faith without doubt because I know my dad can fix it. In essence, grace through faith is believing in everything accomplished on the cross and receiving it. The good news is we don't have to earn it because if we could, we'd boast. However, God gave us His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21), rendering our efforts useless . It's like an infinite debt that God has already paid off with His unlimited credit card.
