CALLING ALL DOG LOVERS!!!

Looking for the BIGGEST & BEST DOG LOVERS to help with FOSTERING, FOREVER HOMES, FAR & WIDE SHARING & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.

I've been an independent and self-funded animal Rescue Angel for 7 years and whole-heartedly embrace the challenge.

I only rescue animals who no-one else can help, whose lives are at risk and where I am their only hope.

URGENT FOSTER & FOREVER HOMES ARE NEEDED NOW, both in Capetown and other provinces, please help if you can.

Everyone is drowning in dogs and this is resulting in a needless loss of life. In return, you will be rewarded with love in its purest form.

All of the dogs in my care have beautiful souls and unique personalities and are loving and loyal companions.

It's extremely difficult to part with them because of the journey we have shared but I cannot keep them all.

Please help us to rescue 8 sheep from slaughter, we have until Monday to raise the necessary funds!

God bless these sheep, when I took the photo they all looked at me at the same time and I managed to capture every single one of their gorgeous faces!

When I heard about the fate of these 8 innocent souls, that my neighbour was unwittingly feeding, watering and talking to, not knowing why they had been moved to near her house, I couldn't stand back and do nothing.

It turned out that they had been moved to be fattened up for slaughter.

I initially contacted the farmer to purchase and save one, but then I thought, how can I choose to save one, I must rescue them all!

A Fabulous Farm Rescue Sanctuary Has Agreed To Take Them!

Moving in faith, whilst I was waiting for a decision, I called the first and best farm rescue sanctuary on my list who amazingly agreed to take them!

The Owner of the sanctuary had just landed back in Capetown following a trip to the UK and, ever the rescuer, immediately said yes to taking them all.

This is very unusual, as anyone in rescue can tell you that most sanctuaries are full and are very difficult to get into, it usually takes a lot of phoning around.

These funds will enable them to live out their days at Greyton Farm, a fabulous sanctuary for rescued farm animals, in peace, comfort and safety.

Some people think that sheep are stupid animals but the Owner of the farm sanctuary, knows all the sheep individually and each has their own character.

We may not be able to save all the animals in the world, but we can surely make a difference to the ones whose lives we are able to change for the better.

The farmer agreed to sell them to me for the going rate of R2,300 (approx. £100 or $120) each, a total of £782 or $972, on the proviso that I take all 8.

With your help, we can raise the necessary funds to rescue them all as we should never leave a man, or a ram, behind!

20 people donating R1,000 ($53 or £43) each is doable but of course, any amount, less or more will be gratefully and gracefully received.

The extra amount will take care of transporting them.

Looking for Sugar Mummy's and Daddy's to assist with the ongoing care costs of sweetest rescue dog Haylo, estimated at approximately R1,500 per month.

When Maja, her Foster Mum went to collect her, nothing could prepare her for what she found...

Maja was met with two big brown eyes staring at her, belonging to a dog who appeared to have given up. Haylo was weak, her bones were visible and her back had started to give way.

Maja spoke softly and Haylo lifted her head, revealing a white heart-shaped pattern on her face, framing her eyes.

She had stopped eating and as the gate was opened, she struggled to get up, but started walking with Maja, with difficulty, to the car.

Maja’s heart broke as she didn't know how long Haylo would survive as her breathing was heavy, but she managed to wag her tail.

Straight to the vet, Haylo weighed in at a mere 19 kg’s and was estimated to be 8 to 9.

Her teeth were terrible and there was a threat of a uterine prolapse, but nothing could be done until Haylo was stronger.

Building her up whilst balancing a life-threatening condition was tough, but we went forward in faith and slowly but surely Haylo began to get stronger.

Maja’s pack immediately accepted her, and seemed to understand that she was in need of help.

The first 3 nights were spent on the floor as she didn’t understand that she could sleep in one of the many dog beds.

Most of the first days were spent sleeping and eating every 4 hrs and by the 3rd day she started interacting for very short intervals.

Haylo's breathing was very heavy and Maja worried that she might be suffering from a heart condition.

After the first week she had gained 5 kg’s and was slowly introduced to morning walks. She clearly needed her operation but had to be at least 30 kg.

When she was strong enough, we booked her in with no idea as to how we would pay the bill and 5 awesome Sugar Mummy's stepped forward to help, together contributing R6,300!

This outpouring of support over the Easter and Passover weekend, which was also Maja’s birthday, was a miracle.

This was Haylo's first step towards good health and the new life she so desperately deserved, having never known the love of a family.

She has found her place within the pack, plays for hours, slept by the fire for the first time and learned to sleep on a snuggy bed.

She is very protective and dilly at the same time and has become a deeply loved and firmly established member of the family.

Due to the financial pressure of having 3 other dogs whilst also supporting 4 families, for Maja to keep her, we need to raise approximately R1,500 (£67 / $83) per month.

This includes special food, flea & tick treatment and if possible, medical aid, to make sure she has access to the best care whenever she needs it.

Both Maja and I want to give her the best we can for whatever time she has left and would appreciate any help.

Halo symbolizes divine presence and is associated with the glory and power of God - the light of divine grace suffusing the soul.

Good morning! Welcome to Amanda's Ark!

I started this page with the intention of building a family and community for like-minded people who love animals.

Amanda's Ark began with one Daschund called Tammy, then came Chico, an old German Shepherd cross and Marley, a Staffie cross on the same day.

We had gone from feeding, loving, sheltering and pet sitting the neighbours dogs to having 3 children of our own and life changed irrevocably!

Then brother and sister Sweetie & Scooby joined and then Ollie and Sultan and last but not least Foxy who I found at a motorway service station soaking wet in the rain.

And then came the cats!!!

First there was Kittyki, she brought her little black kitten who we named Courage, and then their friends came, and then they had babies, and before long, we had quite the family...

Now we have 8 rescue dogs and approximately 35 cats…!

We also help other rescue dogs who cross our path including finding foster homes, paying for medical needs and finding perfect forever homes.

All the animals get 5-star treatment including home cooked food as often as we can, snuggy blankets and boxes, a fab cat house and the love of a family.

The dogs live in the house and have the front and the cats have safe access to the house through a catio and live in the back and we are busy trying to integrate everyone for an easy and stress free life!

We build whatever is required as it's required and the cats are free to explore the farm and surrounding land in the mountain, they have a great life!

I set up Amanda's Ark as the expenses and help required have gotten wildly out of control and we need help!

As a lover of animals, excellence and all things fabulous, I will be sharing their stories, our lives and all things animal-related so that people can learn and grow with us.

The only way we can make a difference is together, and together, we are powerful beyond measure.

So climb onboard Amanda's Ark as we batten down the hatches, shelter from the storm and shade from the heat, seeking safety on dry land, with a Mighty hand upon us.
