Yesterday afternoon we were called out to collect an abandoned dog at the Helen Joseph Hospital who was tied to a fence. Luckily this is a busy spot and someone saw him just standing there, looking very confused.

He is currently in our care, but sadly we not holding hope that anyone is going to come and claim this old half blind boy. In the meantime, we will make him comfortable with lots of food and water and a warm comfy bed.

Before spending hundreds of rands on roses and chocolate this Valentines Day - donate R100 towards an animal that does not have a Valentine and help us spread some LOVE by spoiling them on the 14th.

Our Christmas bags het a whopping 86 bags sponsored!

For Valentines days we are hoping to beat that number. Choose a kennel you want to sponsor and send a POP and your details to [email protected].

We will then send you a certificate of the sponsored animal.

On Valentines Day we will give al the dogs and cats yummy pupcakes and treats all sponsored by the sponsored kennels!

This is why door-to-door outreach is so important.

When you arrive at a property, you simply can't just have a chat with pet owners as they show you their cute fluffy puppies at the front gate. Owners will only show you what they want you to see.

When you go onto the property and take a walk around - that's when you will come across problems. Problems that people try and hide from you, and they know what you are finding is wrong as every excuse under the sun will pop up as to why the animals are being kept as they are.

Low walls, or the dog is not human friendly, the dog runs out of the gate, the dog digs. Yet they know the condition they are keeping the poor animal in, is not right. The one dog was not "human friendly" and was kept closed up in a cage, while the other dog was free to roam around scrounging for bits of food to eat between all the rubble.

The dogs have been signed over to us for safe keeping and the inspectors are dealing with the owners. Education is key - by simply just taking animals away and not trying to show owners right from wrong, they will simply go get another dog and do the same.

National Lotteries Commission

We though we would share some of our short Tiktok videos just to show our supporters what we have been up to the last few weeks.

We are so happy to see so many happy pets return to their happy owners. All of them have been sterilised, vaccinated, dewormed amd received a 3month tick and flea treatment - all made possible by the National Lotto Commision.

Our team has been very busy the last few weeks doing door to door wellness checks, and assisting owners in getting their animals sterilised.
