As part of the Bravecto® 10 Year Celebration, we are profiling some of our MSD Animal Health staff and their golden oldies who have been on Bravecto® products for a decade!

This month, we feature Roxy, Product Manager for Companion Animals at MSD Animal Health.

Her gorgeous fur kid is Gin, aka Gin Gin, Ginny Gin, Gin Ginny or “Devil wears Prada” as she is fondly referred to. She is a sassy little dashie girl who isn’t so fond of other people and dogs but she is loved by so many.

She boasts a vibe that people just can’t help but love. She plays hard to get and it works for her every time.

Ginny is 10 years old and her birthday is 2 days before Roxy’s.

🐶💜 VALLEY FARM HANDSOME HEROES 💜🐶

Our loyal fur fans will know all about doggie blood donors from our posts about the incredible Valley Farm Animal Hospital in Pretoria.

JANIE & ILANA DENTAL DAY

Going to the dentist is daunting for most people but imagine being visually-impaired for this process?

Luckily, Janie had Ilana at her side to keep her company. She had this to say about her recent visit to the dentist with seeing-eye dog, Ilana.

“For me it is not very nice to hear the drills, feel the work done in my mouth, etc. Ilana is always very concerned when I sit on that chair. But I am really grateful to have such a gentle, concerned, four-legged friend and such a friendly, caring dentist.”

Bravecto® recently celebrated 10 years of innovative, long-lasting protection.

Fans of our socials will have enjoyed the tributes our very own staff created, showcasing their Bravecto® Golden Oldies – dogs that have been treated against pests with our products since the very beginning.

One star of the show was Dr Carolyn Chelchinskey, Business Unit Manager for MSD Animal Health, and her pack of pups. Here is their story:

“I am the Business Unit Manager and have been at MSD Animal Health for 18 years. I am proud to be part of the team that launched Bravecto® 10 years ago.

Zoe is now 14 and Moxie is 12, and they have been treated with Bravecto® every 12 weeks for the last 10 years.

We live on a smallholding where ticks are a serious concern and I never have to worry with them being on Bravecto®. In her prime, Zoe was an agility dog and used to travel across the country for competitions and I never had to worry about her picking up fleas at the various guesthouses where other pets had stayed. She also travelled overseas and I always knew she was protected against tick-borne diseases whether away or at home.

Moxie loves hiking, and always enjoys a swim on the hikes, and again, I have peace of mind that she won’t pick up biliary because she is always protected against ticks.

Now in their golden years they spend a lot of time cuddling on the couch with me.”

Just look at that shiny coat! The lovely Macey was rescued by our friends at CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) but she didn’t always look so cuddly.

Poor Macy was discovered with terrible mange which is caused by skin mites. Luckily, the kind carers at CLAW got in touch with us and we sent over Bravecto® which treats for mange-causing skin mites as well as ticks and fleas.

Now, Macey looks amazing! Thanks to our friends at CLAW.

🐶💜 VACS AND WAGS 💜🐶 MSD Animal Health (MSD) recently took part in a vaccination day at Bryanston Vet Hospital. Nobivac® vaccines were sponsored by MSD to be administered to the the pups from South African Guide-Dog Association in training. Bryanston Vet Hospital staff kindly handled the serious stuff while some MSD staff were rewarded with all the cuddles. The puppies received their relevant puppy vaccinations, a few others got their annual boosters and 2 fertile young boys got Nobivac® L6 – a vaccine against Leptospirosis. 🐶💜 A BIG BARKING GRADUATION! 💜🐶 The South African Guide-Dogs Association recently celebrated another wonderful graduation ceremony. A group of 9 incredible support canines were sent to their forever homes at a tear-jerking ceremony that saw tails wagging and tears falling as trainers and raisers bid farewell to their newly-graduated working dogs.
