HOW TO KEEP YOUR PET HAPPY, SAFE AND COMFORTABLE!

Create a Safe Space:
Set up a quiet, comfortable room where your pet can retreat during fireworks. Make sure it's a familiar space with their favorite bed or toys to help them feel secure.

Use Calming Aids:
Consider using calming products like pet-safe sprays, diffusers, or anxiety wraps to help reduce stress. Consult your vet if necessary for advice on anxiety-reducing medications.

Keep Pets Indoors:
Always keep your pets inside during fireworks. Close windows and doors to minimize the noise, and draw the curtains to reduce the flashing lights that may startle them.

Play Background Noise:
Play calming music or turn on the TV to help drown out the sound of fireworks. This background noise can help soothe your pet and create a more familiar environment.

Stay Calm and Reassuring:
Pets often pick up on your emotions, so staying calm and composed is crucial. Comfort them if needed, but avoid reinforcing anxious behavior by over-petting or excessively soothing them.

Ensure Identification:
Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with an ID tag or is microchipped in case they panic and escape. This ensures a quicker reunion if they run away.

Be Present With Your Pet:
You dont know how your pets might react if you aren't with them. Keep them busy and distracted. Spend the evening giving them cuddles, playing, rough housing, petting them, chew or squeaky toys, and just giving them plenty of attention to try distract them.

By preparing in advance and creating a peaceful environment, you can help your pets stay calm and safe during Diwali’s fireworks.
