These last couple of days have been incredibly overwhelming with phones calls from people within the community looking for assistance with their dogs.

- they immigrating and once again leave their dogs to the last minute to be rehomed my
- people have RIP 😢
- we are downsizing, we truly battle with this one! As much as we understand landlords are truly very difficult, are your dogs not family?
- behavioural issues!
- divorces

Well the list goes on…..

We are full at the moment, but we try and help where we can, however taking in dogs is not possible.

Please be kind to rescuers as we are all in the same boat at the moment.
Animal welfare is terribly overwhelming and some of these animals are suffering at the cruelty of man, however there are guardian angels out there who go the extra mile to help and we salute you.

We know times are tough, but please help animal welfare where you can.
Emotionally and psychologically many rescuers are taking strain to the point of wanting to give up! The financial burden of vet bills, paying salaries and so forth. Without these wonderful people, our rescues wouldn’t be able to heal and rehabilitate.
We are tired and in all honesty there is never time to rest.

There are times we need to step back and take a few days to reflect and then carry on.

Be kind and understanding to rescuers.

At the end of the day WE ARE THE VOICE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES AND WE CARRY ON!

As you are all aware people have supported Diwali and Guy Fawkes this last week letting off loud fireworks😭

Durban has experienced the worst thunderstorms in the last 3 days.....⛈️⚡️⚡️

These have been terrifying experiences for our rescue dogs and our volunteers alike.

We sat in kennels for hours until the early hours of the morning to try and comfort the dogs.....we are mentally and physically exhausted.😪

The sad part is that we have had to outlay at least R3000 to buy calming meds and CBD biscuits to help sedate our babies.

We have had to dig into our food money to get the medications and we are now out of funds for the rest of the month.

PLEASE IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO HELP US...NO AMOUNT IS EVER TO SMALL...PLEASE DONATE INTO OUR BANK ACCOUNT AND HELP US MAKE IT THROUGH THE MONTH.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🐾🐾🐾🐾⛈️😭⚡️

Just a bit of clarity as people don't always understand.

We run rescue kennels and our dogs all need new homes.

We rescue stray and abandoned dogs, heal them and rehabilitate them so that they are ready to join loving family homes.

Our dogs are not guard dogs so we will not approve homes wanting guard dogs.

WE DO NOT REHOME OTHER PEOPLES DOGS......OUR OWN DOGS DESERVE HOMES TOO......WE CANNOT ALLOW OUR RESCUE DOGS TO SIT IN KENNELS WHILST WE HOME A DOG THAT PEOPLE FOR SOME REASON DONT WANT OR NEED ANYMORE.

There is a difference between a rescue dog found on the streets and a dog that is surrendered by an owner.

Please understand that our dogs in our kennels are our first priority.🙏🙏❤️

This week we were once again blessed to receive a huge amount of dog food from Purina Pro Plan and Midlands Veterinary Wholesalers.

These companies really go out of their way to make sure that the voiceless Animals all get fed.

SOME IMPORTANT RESCUE FACTS - please take the time to read.

1. Rescue groups do not have unlimited space, money and other resources.

2. You are not doing us a favor by asking us to take a dog or puppy you have found. If we can help, WE are doing YOU a favor by assuming the financial, physical and emotional responsibility for the dog.

3. Please do not take credit for rescuing a dog when what you have done is contacted a group to take it off your hands, right now, immediately, because you a) have a dog already, b) are going out of town or have other plans or c) you wish you could help but just "can't" for no definite reason. That's asking US to rescue a dog. You don't get the credit.

4. Just because you know one of us, please DO NOT take it upon yourself to tell someone that our group can definitely help with a dog.

5. If you pick up a stray, please be willing to take some personal responsibility for your action. Don't rage at us if we request that you keep a puppy a couple of weeks in order for it to have two sets of shots, requisite in order to not put the puppy's life at risk. Offer to pay for vetting, or buy a pen. Remember, YOU are the one asking for help.

6. Do not tell us if we can't take the dog IMMEDIATELY, it will have to go to Rabies Control. We don't need any further confirmation that jackasses like you exist. Sadly, we already know.

7. If we try to help and you are unwilling to do what you need to do in order for us or another group to help, DO NOT send us an email telling us it is our "fault" that we can't help, and if you are a cold enough SOB that you will take a dog to Rabies Control because you can't be bothered, please don't insinuate that if the dog dies it is somehow our fault.

No good deed goes unpunished. People think we do this because we love doing it. Fact #8: We hate it. We do it because no one else will. We have moments of joy when we rescue dogs and find homes for them, but those blissful moments don't negate the pain of the everyday stress, financial and physical burdens, and emotional havoc wreaked upon us by virtue of what we deal with every day. Don't get me wrong, it is all worth it, every single life is worth what we go through. But it's SO DAMN HARD. Please don't criticize us unless you've been in these horrible trenches. You have no idea what our lives are like.

We don't ask for much. But for God's sake, and I mean that with all reverence, if you can't be part of the solution then PLEASE just don't be part of the problem.
