✅ Provide your pet with plenty of distractions like toys and treats
✅ Stay calm yourself. Your pet can sense your anxiety,
✅ Consider using a calming aid. There are a number of products available that can help to calm your pet, such as pheromone diffusers and calming chews.
✅ Walk your dog before the fireworks start. This will help to tire them out and make them less likely to want to bark at the noise.

Road trips with your furry best friend can be an unforgettable adventure. But before you hit the highway, it's crucial to prioritize safety for both of you. Here are some essential tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey:

✅ Never let your dog roam freely in the car. A secure harness attached to a seatbelt anchor is a must. This prevents them from becoming projectiles in case of sudden stops or accidents.
✅ Monitor the temperature inside the vehicle. Never leave your dog unattended in a parked car, even for short periods, temperatures can rise dangerously quickly, leading to heatstroke.
✅ Frequent breaks are essential to stretch your legs and allow your dog to relieve themselves and explore new scents. Choose pet-friendly rest stops with shaded areas.

❌ Steer clear of those holiday staples like turkey skin, gravy, stuffing, and Christmas pudding. These rich foods can cause digestive upset, pancreatitis, and even obesity in pets.
❌Chocolate is toxic to dogs and cats. It contains theobromine, a substance that can be harmful to their hearts and nervous systems.
❌ Onions and garlic can be toxic to pets, causing damage to red blood cells.
❌ Cooked bones can splinter easily, posing a serious choking or internal injury risk.
❌ Even small amounts of alcohol can be harmful to pets.

Instead of sharing your plate, offer your pet some safe alternatives like commercially available treats designed specifically for dogs and cats or offer small pieces of cooked, plain chicken or turkey (without the skin).

Summer can be a challenging time for our furry friends. As temperatures rise, it's important to take extra precautions to keep your dog cool and comfortable. Here are some tips to help you keep your canine companion safe and happy during the hot summer months:

1️⃣Ensure your dog always has access to fresh, clean water. Consider adding ice cubes to their water bowl to keep it cool.

2️⃣Brush your dog's fur daily to remove loose hair that can restrict airflow. Regular baths can also help keep your dog cool

3️⃣Avoid exercising your dog during the hottest parts of the day. Opt for early morning or late evening walks.Choose shady trails and avoid paved surfaces, as they can be extremely hot.

4️⃣Provide a cool, shaded area indoors where your dog can retreat from the heat. Use fans or air conditioning to keep the temperature comfortable.

5️⃣Place a cooling mat on the floor, in your dog's bed. The mat contains a gel filling that reduces your dog's temperature

6️⃣Never leave your dog in a car. Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise rapidly to dangerous levels, even with the windows open

7️⃣During extreme heat, limit your dog's outdoor time to essential activities only.
