This sweet boy has been at the shelter since he was just 7 weeks old, and now at 5 months, he’s still waiting for a family to call his own. He is a small/medium breed.

All his siblings have been adopted, and Bok thought his turn had finally come—he had an adoption lined up, but his adopters never showed up and never answered their phone again. 💔

Despite that disappointment, Bok is still the happy, bouncy, loving pup he’s always been!

Heartbreak struck at Place a Pup when a sweet mama dog passed away, leaving behind her tiny, helpless babies.

Now, these fragile little souls are relying on round-the-clock bottle feedings, fighting for their chance at life without the warmth of their mother’s love.

Every day, we see the devastating effects of animal cruelty firsthand. The pain and suffering these innocent souls endure are heartbreaking and often beyond words. From neglected and starved dogs to those who have been abused or abandoned, the cruelty some animals face is unimaginable.

At Place a Pup, we dedicate our lives to helping these animals heal—physically and emotionally. But the truth is, the toll doesn’t stop at the animals. For every rescuer, every vet, and every volunteer, witnessing this cruelty is deeply upsetting. Bella’s Happy Ending

A Story of Hope and Perseverance

Last year, Bella’s world was turned upside down when her owners abandoned her and her puppies at the vet, instructing them to be put to sleep. It was a heartbreaking situation, but we knew Bella deserved a second chance. We couldn’t stand by and let her story end there—she needed a lifeline, and we jumped in without hesitation.

When Bella came to us, she was extremely thin, malnourished, and in desperate need of care. It was a tough journey, but we never gave up on her. Bella’s puppies thrived under our care and were all adopted into loving homes, but Bella was left behind, waiting for her own happy ending.

Today, we are overjoyed to share the news: Bella has officially been homed! She finally has the forever family she has been waiting for—a family that will love her unconditionally and give her the life she truly deserves.

Despite the unimaginable cruelty she endured, being ripped apart and used as bait, Peppa is proving that healing is possible with the right people by her side.

Thanks to the dedicated team at Bryanpark Vet, Peppa is not just surviving—she’s thriving.

She’s been under their care for almost a week, receiving the best treatment we could ever ask for.

Their expertise and compassion have made all the difference in her recovery.

Peppa has undergone multiple surgeries to ensure her wounds heal properly, and her progress has been remarkable.

She’s starting to gain confidence and trust again, showing us glimpses of her sweet, brave spirit.

It's Illegal, Painful, and Unnecessary

At Place a Pup, we strongly advocate for the well-being and dignity of every dog. Unfortunately, some practices, such as ear cropping, are still performed despite being illegal in many places and harmful to dogs.

What is Ear Cropping?

Ear cropping involves cutting a puppy's ears to make them stand upright. This procedure is often performed for cosmetic reasons or to adhere to outdated breed standards. However, it serves no medical purpose and can cause lifelong harm.

Why It's Harmful:

1. Extremely Painful: Puppies endure significant pain during and after the procedure, even with anesthesia. The recovery process can be prolonged and uncomfortable.

2. Risk of Complications: Infection, excessive bleeding, and long-term deformities are common risks.

3. Emotional Impact: Dogs may experience anxiety and distress due to the procedure and the healing process.

4. Unnecessary Surgery: There's no health benefit to ear cropping—it’s purely cosmetic.

The Law

In many countries, ear cropping is illegal, and rightly so. Performing or arranging for this procedure can result in hefty fines or legal consequences. Always check your local laws, but remember: even if it’s legal, it’s not ethical.
