Successful Conviction:
On 17 February 2025, a man accused of dumping two young cats at the side of a busy road in Morningside was convicted of animal cruelty in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.

Help us heal the broken hearted!

Look into those sad eyes ... that's how it feels to be 'dumped' at the SPCA ... to have someone you love walk away without a backward glance. To wait patiently for them to come back and take you home. Day after day, until all hope is gone.
That's what happened to poor Prince.

It's heartbreaking.

But love is a great healer. And in time we coaxed Prince back to life with gentle words, tickles behind the ears and little treats.

And when an older couple came to look for a special dog to adopt, Prince didn't hesitate. He came forward to greet them and it was love at first sight!

Because love is in the air right now, we're hoping you'll open your heart to another sad, unloved and unwanted dog or cat and make a special Valentine gift towards the cost of providing all the love and care they need.
