Hello I'm from BarnYard Stables
Please sponsor me for R250.
Simply comment sponsor and SCFP will send details. They will shop and deliver items to the charity with a card and your name on it.
Please share.

I am an outreach animal, your donation will help an animal similar to me.
Please note each charity sends a wishlist and the volunteers shop and pack as best as possible to that wishlist, so charities get what they want.
Gifts can include food, treats, warm items, toys, useful items etc.Often charities opt for bulk options as this allows your generous donation to go further, instead of many small packs of food, a large bag will be purchased for the animals to share - it makes the funds go so much further. We hope you can understand the need to do this

Christmas Day at Barn Yard Stables...

The day already started with me having to call a private vet to go put a horse down...Puma thats been coming to my Centre for years was crossing the N2 when a car bumped him and broke back leg in two places...
Puma's owner came to ask that we end his suffering. We called the vet to go and euthanaise Puma as he was in agony trying to get up but could not...Puma owner looks after his horses Puma and Hombani really well. Unfortunately horses walk around free in the area.

The vet went out quick and Puma is now put to sleep and not suffering anymore...The owner walked all way back to me to thank me for helping. Puma was gelded by our Centre in 2016..Weve known him for so many years...We will mis seeing him at outreach..

RIP Puma

HEATWAVE WARNING 🌡️

With many parts of South Africa experiencing temperatures of close to 40 degrees Celsius, it's important to protect our equines against the negative consequences of such high temperatures.

Here are a few things we can do to help:
💦 Make sure your horse has a plentiful supply of cool and clean water. It is advised that you monitor water intake to make sure your horse does not become dehydrated in this hot weather.
💦 Avoid working your horse in very high temperatures.
💦 Take lots of breaks during your training session to account for the impact of the high heat.
💦 Walk your horse for a couple of minutes after you finish your ride to reduce the chance of blood pooling in his muscles. Ideally, this should be in hand with the tack removed.
💦 Hose your horse down with cold water as needed throughout the day, and after any form of exertion make sure to hose your horse thoroughly. Ideally, in an area with no water restrictions, you should look to hose your horse for 20 minutes to cool him back down to his normal temperature.
💦 Stand your horse in a breeze (in the shade) or under a fan if possible. Paddocks must have shady areas where horses can get out of the heat.

If you notice any signs of dehydration or overheating contact your vet immediately. Signs to look out for include dullness, lethargy, colic symptoms, rapid breathing, elevated re**al temperature, sweating, dark urine, and/or increased heart rate, but if you see anything out of the ordinary seek veterinary advice ASAP.

Hi, we are either up for adoption or outreach animals at Barnyard Stables. You can sponsor us a gift. R250 and the volunteers at Santa Cause for Paws will shop and pack the perfect gift for me or an animal similar to me. For now these will go out over Christmas, unless the charities want them sooner - we will work with charities to see what they would like.
