Assisted and self fascia release
Finding the correct spot on the pectoral muscles on this mare aided her in releasing deep tension within her fascia lines leading to her scratching her tail end 🦄 on the fence and doing some of her own fascia release all whilst simply working very gently on her pecs.
This shows us how the entire horse ism connected back to front 🤗
This little video is the result immediately after indicating that she's had enough work done on her pectorals.
How awesome that she allowed me to work so deeply on her second session and letting go of all her bracing. Because of that she is now perfectly sound and ready for her endurance ride 🐎
All this by purely being present and listening to what is needed. 🌈

Myofascial Session Releases
What beautiful releases we got doing a Myofascial, Scar and Trauma Release Session on this boy. 🐴
Did you know that Fascia is found everywhere in the body, and even has a memory of its own? It is a connective tissue surrounding muscles, organs, nerve bundles, tendons and bone. Its main components are elastin and collagen. Fascia treatments are not painful and are non-invasive –this is one reason that the horse’s love these techniques. By restoring movement and “slide and glide”, we renew the lubricating fluid that has caused the fascia to become ‘stuck’. This helps to restore function to the affected areas of the body.
These releases are often seen when doing deep fascia work. It is easy to see here that this boy did not just love his session but he is letting go of some big tensions he had.
It is so rewarding to receive this big a thank you after sessions.

Sturnomandibular Shake
Todays move follows on well from the previous post.
Were going to look at the sturnomandibular shake. 🤪
For the shake we need to remember to be soft, slow and gentle. Some horses may resist this and lift there head and neck. If your horse does not give you the movement desired, thats ok rather start very slowly and build it up. This can be a vulnerable area for the horse...
Start at the top of the muscle close to the cheek bone and wiggle your way all the way down to the sternum bone or chest. You can do this for 3 passes on each side. 🤩
If your horse does resist rather use very slow hands, working from the top, place your hands and hold for a while, then slowly move in a zig-zag way all the way down the neck but no shaking. Your aim here wont be to move the muscle as above but to rather move the skin or fascia. This will be a great starting point to loosen your horse up.
What does this help with...? well, lets think about it, breathing, looser neck muscles as softening of these neck muscles at their attachment points. 💥🙌

💥What amazing feedback 💥
This lovely boy's owner called for bodywork because he was showing signs of 'locking stifle'. CC is a young horse who still growing. Young horses can sometimes show this sort of thing when their bodies are still developing.
It was great to see how he released throughout the session. This session was very powerful and integrated and incorporated many different techniques from massage to fascia to cranial holds to help this boy 💫
The feedback two days after his session was the cherry on top. This is what the owner had to say:
"Before CC was stiff and reluctant to move. Now he walks fine and could do basic steps out to the side without locking 💪 his groom that was there for the session also commented that CC moves so much better after his session" 😋
This video shows it all!!! 🏆
Mind blowing 🎉

Our first trim today! This cutest little girl is only 3months old. 🦄 After some touching and picking up legs she soon understood what was required of her. 🏆 She stood so well. Super proud of her. 💫
What an awesome day today was. An early 5:30am start to the morning in freezing Rustenburg treating the most amazing horses with some well deserved bodywork. It was great assisting with the saddle fits at Heimkehr Stables and if that's not wow enough we have seen the greatest results in the horses' hoof work in just one trim shedule. To top it off we are helping one of the many owners beloved horses go barefoot, so looking forward to his results for the future and being able to supply them with some great suplements 🐎
After that we were on the road again and off to Magaliesburg where some more Equine rock crushing feet awaited their barefoot hoofcare ⛰️ and what great feedback to hear that their feet have never been this strong before and able to cope with the rocky terrain that they can now do effortlessly. We then headed along to help a pony with some much needed massage relief and being able to fit a saddle to both horse and rider, the smiles on the faces were true happiness. Finished the day with an 8pm trim by head light and a cup of coffee ☕ heading home with the joy of knowing that a whole day's worth of work meant so much to so many horse and owners.
