In February 2019, three dogs escaped from home when a gate had been accidentally left open. Three beautiful power-breeds started to investigate the nature reserve which covered thousands and thousands of square meters of bush and river, a tough terrain.
Two power-breeds where found, but Blue, a boerboel remained lost in the dense bush of the nature reserve in the Dawncliffe, Westville area.
@RESCUEBLUE was created as a whatsapp group.
Many people from all over came together to search for Blue. It was phenomenal. Searches started early in the morning and continued until late at night.
Blue was found ten days after she disappeared. Tears of joy ran down many of our cheeks, the connection of relief and happiness spread like wildfire on social media.
This was not just about a missing dog. It was about a community coming together and what everyone saw while being apart of the search. Relationships formed.
It has restored so many people’s faith in humanity.
It is about believing, trusting and having FAITH.
God’s timing is something NONE can doubt. He is a God of the 11th hour.
