beautiful tranquil rides in the foothills of the Swellendam Mountains. Join me on a morning ride to start the day, bring the kids in the afternoons to experience the love and beauty of equus.

Koloniesbos Mountain Cabin is situated in Swellendam at the foot of the Langeberg mountains and offers quality accommodation for a small family or group of friends. It is within easy reach of the shops, restaurants, activities and attractions in and around Swellendam. The cabin, which was an original Cape mountaineers hut, comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 guests at a time. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has 2 three-quarter beds, The bathroom has a shower, bath, toilet and basin. The cabin is completely off-the-grid and makes use of solar energy for lighting, and has gas for hot water and cooking. Mountain water feeds the reservoir used for the flushing toilet, shower and washing up. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, fridge, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. The lounge area has comfortable seating and a gas heater for the cold winter evening, as well as a dining table where guests can enjoy their meals together. There are lovely braai facilities available for guests’ use during their stay. Guests are afforded secure parking on the premises. Two Feathers horse trails and stables are located 50 metres from the cabin. Guests can also bring their own horses for a weekend or week to ride on the trails. Rates are available on request.
