We are passionate about delivering the best pet grooming experience for you and your pet. Part of this is our Professional Pet Grooming Training where we will equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to become a qualified pet groomer.
What qualification will I have?
An attendance certificate in domestic pet grooming
Where does training take place?
The trainee starts at our Pawstar pet groomers premises on a Monday – Fridays at N1 CityI do encourage to include a Saturdays.
During this time, learners receive theoretical input, which is combined with practical work at Paw star Pet Groomers parlour.
Depending on the content such as a particular cut for a specific breed of animal, learners will be joining the mobile grooming unit to gain specialised experience.
Will there be an examination?
There is no formal written examination as the training programme has been designed to ensure that the learners are fully competent in all aspects of domestic pet grooming, including washing, drying, clipping, shaving and catering for specific breeds etc.
Being competent means to combine the knowledge with practice. Each of the modules has specific outcomes which need to be achieved before going to the next module.
Specific criteria (outcomes to be achieved) are applied at each module. Each of the modules builds on the previous and if competency is not achieved at each step, the learning cannot continue on to the next module.
The learner needs to be competent, which means he/she has had the opportunity to practice on a variety of animals and breeds. The success criteria are therefore not on how many animals, but on how competent the learner is at the end of the programme.

Practical, jeans, gum boots and smooth clothing easy to clean hair off and a water proof jacket is recommended.
