Dog breeding as a business

Like any other business dog breeding require
#1 planning
#2 doing your SWOT analysis
#3 looking for quality products
#4 investment
We started playing this business 10 years ago when I got 2 gsd 1 male and 1 female from within lusaka but these where brother and sister but when I was buying these were for home not breeding 6 months later they died.
In 2021 I thought the time was right to start my dog breeding business as I was running my fish breeding ( https://youtu.be/McQoaOSx5yk?si=kWQBYyFcrnmE6j0f) and as for fish breeding business is seasonal so I needed a backup business which was dog breeding
Started looking for land first managed to get a plot did the wallfance
Then Started thinking of which breed to specialise in then I looked around most people do Boerboels but a few do Pure GSD's I later got 10 locally but ended up giving them away most of them I was buying for k4500 but only 3 I got for k10000 each and this is the place that inspired me to look for pure breeds
I was introduced to a breeder in South Africa by uncle M from BLADVA KENNELS
of which I got 7 dogs 3 males and 4 females with pedigrees
Later on managed to buy more from the very breeder and other breeders in South Africa then moved to Ghana from LION KENNELS who has been of very good help to us
Our price goes with the quality we have
We put in so much and that's the reason we sell our puppies at 3 months old so that we know the puppy is safe

I would like to find out
When buying a GSD PUPPY what do we look for
Is it that just the ears are up then its a gsd
Or do we just look for working line or show line
Long coat or short coat
Or we just buy so long it's ears are up its called a gsd
Price goes with what u are looking for
eg ;K1500, k3000,k5000
these are dogs that one can not even know if its brother and sister so long it gives you puppies
Feed price
Royal canine is k2200, 15kg
Lifestyle puppy is k1000, 25kg
Joker junior is k1000 , 25kg
Dog breeding is a good business only if one knows the true value of his product as for us we understand what our dogs are worth what we put in for them to look healthy.
All our dogs are pedigrees
No crossbreeding
No inbreeding
If we had a kennel club in zambia we would be far as dog breeders in zambia

Feeding Puppies Wisely
Puppies should be fed a food specially formulated for growth and development until the puppy reaches physical maturity
Large and giant dog breeds do not mature until they are nearly 2 years old. Thus, until they reach maturity, they should be fed a diet specifically formulated for large-breed puppies in an amount that maintains lean body condition to prevent excessive weight
Fresh water should be available to dogs at all times
Food and water dishes should be cleaned daily
Do not feed dogs bones, table scraps

Having a VET DOCTOR near you is very very important for the health of you Dogs make sure your dogs are up to date with all vacancies and deworming.
We had a bad experience with one litter were we lost 8 puppies because of deworming so please let's pay attention to such small things
