"Anything worth while takes effort" and "if it was easy, everyone would be doing it."
Over the last few months as the hounds, my trackers-amazing trackers that I'm super blessed to have-and myself have been navigating our first season, the above quotes have come into play more and more frequently as the season has gone on.
I won't lie, to put it blatantly, it's been hard. REALLY hard. When I started with hounds five years ago, almost to the date this month, I never thought up half the challenges that would come my way. From sick dogs, to accidental puppies, to gomos that are mountains and nightmares that gomos, and let's not even get started on the thorns-see how short my hair is?thorn induced🤦♀️🤣-right down to planning first aid kits, having to use them, overheating-hounds and houndsman-and sometimes just not having the pieces come together, it's been a rollercoaster, and I have to admit, there have been many times when the blood, sweat, and tears all flowed together, and quitting was more and more appealing, but thank God for blessings, grit, and everything in between....
This moment has made it worth it!
First off, I thank my Saviour for the dogs, the trackers, and everyone else listed below. You've had my every step, and I know that mail box up high has been filled up with my prayers ✨️
A massive thank you to mum and dad for putting up with booing, barking, biting, fighting, and an array of other nasties, and not all from the hounds either.....you are not just puppy carers, hound watch-outerers, and advice givers, you're my all around constants.
A big thank you as always to Casper and Lusenga-for not just having the hounds' back but for having mine too.
A huge, HUGE, thank you to Tanya for taking a chance on the new kids on the block, and for being so amazing while doing it. It was an honor and privilege to work with you and your team ❤️ Wounded cats are never easy, but sorting this one with you was absolutely unforgettable!
Lastly, a final thank you to those who didn't make this journey any easier. In the words of Einstein, "I'm thankful to everyone who said no, because of them, I did it myself."
Here's to more moments like this!!
