Bill and Ben, the Bahia Men are doing mighty fine and improving daily.

Dumped in the street as the tiniest kittens you'll ever see (they still are), Ben with front and rear leg injuries, both covered in Ringworm.

Someone mentioned they will grow up to be Tibetan Monkdolls, we reckon they are Himalayan Flame Tip Mountain Tigers, but we could be wrong!

Just Wow!

Meet Sofia, a 12 year old girl from Dubai, who took it upon herself to organise a project making pet owners aware of the importance of Microchipping pets.

More importantly, educating the general public about community animals and the importance of TNR.

Sofia wants to be a vet and is keen on helping animals when she is older. She formed the project under the Service as Action as part of her IB curriculum.

What is amazing, Sofia had already sought permission to set up a stand in her Serena Community, Dubai before approaching us to make her project happen.

Sofia came to us with her mum and younger brother yesterday for some informal training on how to use our website and how Microchipping works.

We are just amazed that this young lady bothered to embark on such a project.

Sofia is also making individuals aware of mcpet.ae and how we fund stray animals through the sale of pet food and accessories.

Thank you Sofia, you are just amazing!

Heart breaking, a thankless task and not easy. Stepping up to help the 1000's of stray dogs and cats is never easy and these guys need your help more than ever.

💔It’s really upsetting, and sad that I had to come here and say this. But I feel I’m left with no choice. Over 20 years of non stop rescuing and I fear we might be in the worst position we’ve ever been 💔

Why is it that we are in this situation??? When we go out of our way to help the dogs off the street!

I feel SO let down. I am always ready to help an animal, as quick as a flash, yet we are left begging to help with FOSTERS!!! Yes literally begging for Fosters… that still don’t come.

I can count more than 10 messages since Monday from people travelling and wanting to give up their dogs and cats. This excuse and that excuse…. But they all want our help, feel that it’s normal to just ask someone else to take over their responsibilities. I am human too, the same as these people.

Has the time come for this shelter that ran almost 24 years, to turn a blind eye? Maybe it’s time to give up, as there seems there is no hope.

The dogs in our care are dogs that everyone tagged us to help, these are the dogs that people asked us to take. How do these people think we survive? How do they think we have space for 5,000?

We ask for your help and we get 3 shares, a few likes meaning we don’t even reach anyone else? Our dogs aren’t even worth 10 seconds of your time online?

I’m sick mentally and physically thinking of these poor animals!

I’m so sorry to even say that people apply to foster and never turn up. Or they take an animal and give up in hours, days and expect us to have an instant solution.

I Michelle have decided that if I don’t see any progress in the future with Fosters ! Adopters! Food! And vet bills.
My only alternative would be to open the gates.

Every single day we rescue dogs!!! We invite EVERYONE to come and spend a day and night at our shelter and you will know what I mean.

I will be forced to stop it all and to finally give up. My head says it’s what I should do, my heart can’t quite bear it. I’m sorry that you have to hear this from me, but I cannot take this any longer..🙏🏻

MY SOUL IS CRUSHED!

EDIT: to be clear, just so no confusion, our situation is so bad right now due to the lack of PHYSICAL help.

Whilst we will of course always need support towards vet and food bills (and we are SO grateful to anyone who supports, for every single dirham) and this will be true until the last dog is in our care, the decline over the years is in PEOPLE. With all the will and funds in the world, we cannot continue just rescuing for rescuing sake.

We need HOMES. We need people to have some PATIENCE and put in effort in stead of giving up at the first hurdle and returning dogs and pups for no real reason. We need people to offer their time to help with TRANSPORT and WALKS. We need people when they see a post to click a single button to like or SHARE it so more people see it.

We have all the will to keep going. But we don’t have the people or community…
