Animalia - animal welfare and more Providing a new community-centric clinic model for animal welfare in the UAE.

Animalia, animal welfare is a community program aimed at improving the lives of animals in the UAE. Our activities are to actively encourage community participation to help all animals in need. Training and education are at the forefront of our mission; we provide hands on events, workshops, training events and educational programs for both public and private sectors. We advocate high standards of

veterinary care, along with education and a comprehensive sterilisation program for community animals as part of our voluntary vet program, in line with national and international standards. The program builds upon community support and compassion to achieve our vision of ensuring every animal in the UAE is cared for appropriately and lives a life free from cruelty and suffering.

It was an honour to be invited to participate in the Sharjah Architecture Triennial Research Initiative.

The topic: Urban animal welfare in the UAE and the urban liminality and challenges experienced by their caregivers.

Through a selection of readings and roundtable discussions with scholars, activists and residents we discussed potential pathways towards seeding responsibility, cultural shifts and collective action towards urban animal and caregiving community welfare.

Discussions were facilitated to engage scholars, community volunteers and rescuers, and organisations respectively to share perspectives on the complexities of urban animal welfare in the UAE.
It was a great success and a wonderful opportunity to raise animal welfare standards across the UAE.

It was an immense pleasure to welcome the Emirates Foundation volunteers and Catalyst events to Animalia veterinary clinic. The Animalia team introduced the volunteers to our clinic hub, our community work, our animal welfare programs and especially our community cat feeding and sterilization programs. Everyone was wonderful; they all helped with community cat feeding and learnt about the importance of sterilization and giving care to community animals. They also engaged with many of our rescue cats for adoption. It was a privilege to witness first hand the love, respect and kindness shown by the group to these cats. This is a perfect example of how in our communities we truly can make a difference to the lives of animals. Our sustainable community cat feeding and sterilization programs not only improve animal welfare but bring communities together for a better future for all. Thank you all.
