The man standing on the raised mound of tilled red soils in the middle of large new planted filed with his arms raised up and with bottle of water and clipboard is Director COSA Farmlink Agri-Consult Ltd

He's in his moment of assessment and celebration for his completed section of survey and he he steered in mid-western Uganda (Hoima Oil City).
He's happy for young new planted seedling which are uniformly established, planting that was done correctly, his his successful work involving walking in fields to record data on planting success, pests and disease prevalence good soil conditions and plant growth stages.

(Community Supported Agriculture) Farmlink Agri-Consult limited has established okra farming at acreage of 2 acres in northern Uganda to serve the local community with sauce.
With the right mix of rainfall, sunshine plus other agronomic practices like weeding, earthing up, pruning, thinning, mulching, irrigation (watering), Caping to control height & encourage lateral growth, fertilizer application, staking, green manuring, top dressing, pest & disease control plus the bumper harvest is assured at the end of maturity period.

Few reasons for growing Okra in Acholi community include;

1.Ready market (hotels, restaurants, local markets) provided by south Sudan, Kitgum, Gulu, nearby local markets like Pangira & Loukungu in Lamwo district.
2. Fast growing (matures in 2-3 months) helping act as food security
3.Good source of income to farmers
4. Drought tolerant (suitable for Lamwo's climate)
5. Creat employment for women & youth in Lamwo district
6.Improve soil health through crop rotation
7.Can be consumed fresh or dried, stored & used later
