Liffey, a unique case, DSH 14 years old spayed female cat, was admitted to Pets Haven Veterinary Clinic in Dubai 🇦🇪 with a complaint:
lethargic, long time sleeping on the couch, loss appetite, frequent vomiting and crouching her back as a sign of abdominal pain. As a result of the clinical examination, a foreign body was on the top of the diagnosis.

X-ray was done, no obstructive pattern were determined in the intestine and no foreign body was confirmed.
Two big strong radio-opaque circle mass were detected in the Gall bladder area and the bile duct near duodenum.
Blood tests were performed, CBC was unremarkable and Comprehensive results showed Bilirubinemia (1.3 mg/dl) despite the cat was not Icteric, high levels of ALP (146 U/L) and ALT (1045 U/L).

The X-ray procedure was repeated with barium, cholelithiasis were confirmed in the area of ​​​​the gallbladder and the bile duct. Therefore, surgical intervention was mandatory.
A cholecystectomy and extirpation of the proximal part of the cystic duct (where the stones were lodged) were performed after emptying it from the bile secretions and the stones.
The surgical intervention aimed to keep the function of the common bile duct CBD between the liver and the duodenum to ensure the continued delivery of liver secretions and bile to the duodenum to aid digestion and fat emulsification.

The operation was performed under general anesthesia using
Diazepam, Butraphanol, ketamine, and maintained with inhalation Isoflurane.

Liffey was kept postsurgicaly on fluid therapy, IV Cefotriaxone, Metronidazole and Liver support. Pain killer was provided as well.
Liffey was prescribed a low-fat diet with Liver support lifelong.

Liffey's situation now is stable and her activity already returned to normal 👍👌

ذهب للإستجمام منذ كانون الأول ٢٠٢٣ في إحدى الفنادق الخاصة بالكلاب لبضعة أيام' إلا أنه عاد إلى منزله حزيناً كئيباً بعد إصابته بمرض جلدي معقد مابين الإصابة الفطرية والأكزيما و أشياء أخرى منعته من الإستجابة للعلاج الروتيني الذي يقدم عادة في مثل هذه الحالات .

استمرت الإصابة و ساء وضعه أكثر رغم العلاج الذي بدأه منذ العام الماضي.

ثم عندما وصل إلينا، قمنا بتركيب أدوية خاصة وتطبيقها موضعياً على الجلد مع المتابعة بالحمام الطبي الدوري كل أسبوع، وكانت النتيجة المذهلة قد بدأت بالظهور خلال الأسبوع الأول من بداية رحلة العلاج ، لتصل إلى الشفاء الكامل ونمو الشعر بشكل كامل وجميل وقوي خلال أقل من شهرين .
