Hello everyone! I write to you in great distress. I am a cancer patient who is fighting for my life and currently under treatment for the past one year. This is the biggest challenge of my life!
I have been taking care of street cats in UAE for the past 20 years. During this time I have successfully got some cats adopted in the country and abroad. I have also adopted some cats for myself. I have always worked within my own capacity and paid for their TNR, vaccinations, any injuries, and sickness on my own. For the past few years, I have been taking care of cats in the Al Jaddaf area. Even though I moved away from that location last year, I have been paying someone to feed the cats day and night, twice a day, every day. Unfortunately, it seems like I am the only one feeding the cats in that area on daily basis.
As I mentioned I am going through cancer treatment and have been very sick beyond words and due to my health issues, I will be leaving Dubai soon. My biggest concern is the cats that are being taken care of by me. Currently, there are 3 adult cats of which one had 3 babies and 1 adult cat is pregnant, and 1 little older baby cat (not sure of his/her mother). At the moment there are 7 cats and expected babies from the pregnant adult cat.
As I am planning to leave Dubai, I am in dire need of your help! I cannot take care of this situation on my own. It is a huge task that requires a lot of planning and ex*****on. I had plans of sending these 7 cats abroad to a good friend of mine who would help me get good homes for them. But to make the situation difficult, one of the adult cats has become pregnant. So more cats will need to be adopted. I am working on this project as I write this story.
I am suffering from an illness that keeps me in bed most of the time with low energy, fatigue, tiredness, and extreme body pains. Most days I am not able to walk on my own and require help with a walker. On top of that, I live alone. Even though I am extremely ill, I still work from home from 8 to 5 pm. I have no help at home and things have been extremely difficult during my chemotherapy treatments. I had few emergency visits to the hospital and finally I have decided to leave Dubai as soon as possible as I require family support during this difficult journey and cannot do it on my own.
As I plan to leave Dubai, I want to prepare these cats to send them abroad. And this is where I require your help. I do not have the resources to take care of this unless all of you help me. First, I need volunteers to come and help catch these cats and drop them off at the vet office. At the vet clinic, these cats will have their Spaying/Neutering, microchipping, and vaccinations done. Secondly, I need volunteers to foster these cats. They require fostering for a month or the most 2 months before they are ready to travel abroad. If I do not get them spayed and neutered, they will continue to produce more babies and this situation will be out of my hands as I cannot afford to have so many cats transported abroad. I am not sure if in UAE anyone would adopt them. Also, the person who is feeding them right now is leaving soon and there will be no one to feed them anymore.
I request you to come forward and help me make these cats' future safe and secure. These cats like many live in a very hostile environment. These cats are constantly abused, hit, kicked, beaten, and experience cruelty by people living in that area. They are not welcome there. In the past, whenever they were given food and water, it was all thrown away. They were left hungry and thirsty. They are living under great hardships. With great difficulty, they are surviving. I want to give them a good life before I leave Dubai and am spending my entire saving to get them relocated abroad so they can have happier lives.
All I ask you is to help me get these innocent cats to their final homes!
HELP WITH THE SPAYING/NEUTERING OF THESE CATS!
Thank you
God bless you all.
