A strong or unpleasant smell is often the first sign of an infection.
And a few words on why beagles are prone to ear infections?

🟣Poor airflow in the ear canal
🟣Warm, moist environment
🟣Underlying allergies (food or environmental)
🟣Wax and bacterial overgrowth

⚠️ Common signs:

🟣Head shaking or scratching
🟣Red, painful ears
🟣Bad smell or discharge

Important to know:
If ear infections keep coming back, there is almost always an underlying allergy that needs to be addressed — not just treated with drops.

These kittens were left outside our clinic door.
We will always provide care, but abandoning animals outside veterinary clinics is unacceptable.

Leaving kittens or cats outside puts them at serious risk — they can be injured, become sick, be attacked, or remain unnoticed for hours. This is not rescue and it is not responsible.

🌿 At Panacea Vets, when a cat is found:
💜We examine and treat them medically
💜We spay or neuter when appropriate
💜We attempt rehoming for friendly cats and kittens
💜Cats accustomed to outdoor life are neutered and safely returned to their territory.

These steps require planning, commitment, and responsibility.
Simply leaving animals outside a clinic door is not an acceptable alternative.

If you find a kitten or cat and cannot care for it, contact a rescue, seek advice, or speak to a veterinary clinic first. Do not abandon animals.

We all share responsibility for animal welfare.
Choose action, accountability, and respect for life. 🐱

Some popular breeds come with serious genetic health risks.

🔴Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
High risk of early heart disease and painful neurological conditions.

🔴French Bulldogs
Commonly affected by breathing problems (BOAS), spinal issues, and chronic skin & ear disease.

👉 If you choose these breeds, make sure your puppy comes from a truly reputable breeder — usually in Western Europe, where stricter breeding regulations and health screening are in place.

📌 Stay informed and keep up with the new breeding standards for French Bulldogs — healthier nostrils, longer muzzles, and proper health testing matter.

Choosing responsibly means choosing health, welfare, and a better future for the breed 💚🐶
