Dr. Susana graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Portugal in 2007 and has since honed her skills as a valued member of the veterinary teams in prestigious hospitals in Lisbon, Portugal.

From an early stage in her career, Dr. Susana developed a passion for cardiology and imaging, dedicating herself to extensive training and courses in these fields. Her commitment to excellence in cardiology, imaging, and internal medicine is reflected in her vast experience, gained through close collaboration with emergency/intensive care departments and hospitalization units, where she has successfully resolved a multitude of clinical cases.

Recently, Dr. Susana embarked on a new chapter in her life, relocating to Dubai with her family in search of fresh challenges. Despite her professional commitments, Dr. Susana prioritizes quality time with her family and indulges in her hobbies of cinema outings and leisurely walks. Additionally, she has a keen interest in bodybuilding, further exemplifying her dedication to personal growth and well-being.

The expected changes and post-operative care for your pet vary depending on the procedure they underwent. However, in the initial days of recovery, it's common for:

💊 You to administer medication prescribed by our veterinary team.

👀 You to closely monitor your pet's condition, including their bandage, behavior, appetite and elimination habits.

🏡 You to create a calm and clean environment for your pet, and consider adjusting some routines, such as keeping them separate from other animals in the house to avoid any disturbances.

❤️ Your pet to be comfortable and capable of resting, eating, and eliminating. If they're not, please contact us.

🩹 Your pet to use some form of suture protection, such as a bandage, post-surgical garment or Elizabethan collar, for example.

👨‍⚕️ You to schedule a follow-up visit with us for wound assessment and to address any questions or concerns.

Do you know what Dr. Susana is doing? 👉 She's feeding one of our hospitalized patients through a feeding tube. Nasal or esophageal tubes are used in cases of anorexia or when, for some reason (such as surgery), oral feeding isn't possible. In these cases, we provide a diet tailored to each patient's needs, both in terms of nutrients and texture.
