World Zoonoses Day is observed every year on July 6th, commemorating the day in 1885 when Louis Pasteur administered the first successful rabies vaccine—a landmark in protecting both humans and animals.
Zoonotic diseases are infections that spread between animals and humans, and while global focus often falls on pandemics and livestock, small companion animals also play an important role.
