These Balkan areas are of outstanding natural beauty giving superb hiking and walking conditions. There are various villages in the Alpine area including Razem, Thethi, and Valbona which we visit between May and October for hiking, long distance walking and wildlife watching. In the winter between November and March there is the opportunity for tracking wolves. The Alpine long distance walking pat
h stretches west to east; from the western end near Lake Shkodra through Razem, Thethi, and Valbona and then towards Bajram Curri in the North East of Albania; it is approximately 60 kilometres or 40 miles long. This takes you through the Accursed Mountains, over the ‘Roof of Albania’ in the footsteps of the British writer and philanthropist Edith Durham, and is known as “The Albanian Alpine Path”. The Alpine long distance trail is a loop stretching south to north from Razem through Thethi, Lepushe, Tamara, back to Razem in the North West of Albania; it is approximately 130 kilometres or 80 miles long. Again this takes you through the Accursed Mountains, over the ‘Roof of Albania’ in the footsteps of the British writer and philanthropist Edith Durham, and is known as “The Albanian Alpine Trail”. The Sub-Alpine walking is based around the village of Voskopoja which was formerly the ancient ‘lost’ city ofVoskopoja near Korce. We visit this village between May and October and it forms the base for walking, wildlife watching, and cultural visits as well as long distance walking. In the winter between January and February there is the opportunity of tracking wolves. As well as providing tours for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts we are set up to help individuals, charities and corporations who want to do a charity challenge either in support of our work or their chosen charity.
